Porter have just released a new series of large sized Cordura tote bags through the B印 Yoshida store in Daikanyama. The bags offer plenty of storage, extreme durability and a clean, tonal design. Whether you're heading to the office, or need extra room for a trip to the beach, the Tension series offer the timeless, classic Porter look that I've always found appealing.

This might be the simplest and most refined piece of outerwear that Kapital has manufactured in a while. Sometimes Kapital fabrics are a little too 'crazy quilt' for me, even though I know the construction is going to be incredible. In general I like mostly monochromatic pieces. This style of hunting jacket made of cotton moleskin, rarely seen in black, with the classic brown corduroy collar, is the best example I've seen. It's more modern than the caramel coloured vintage version but still a more traditional jacket than usual from Kapital.

Totokaelo has been regarded as one of the best independent womenswear stores on the west coast for a number of years. With a beautiful space, an interesting mix of fashion, accessories and home products, they've created a strong following in Seattle and online. Recently they've expanded by opening the basement of their Capitol Hill space to accommodate a menswear selection that includes Jil Sander, Yohji Yamamoto, Maison Martin Margiela and LVC among others.

You'd have to be a lot cooler than I am, to run this look. Although as with most of the Needles collection that doesn't stop me admiring the idea somewhat wistfully. These Sulpher Dyed deck shoes are a playful and unique take on a classic design; modeled on a Top-Sider last from the 1970's. Only time will tell if their Converse inspired siblings will make an appearance on these shores later in the summer. Those I might just be able able to pull off. Although honestly, probably not.

This casual half-zip 'Classic Shirt' by Takahiro Miyashita The Soloist comes in five different colours. Made in Japan, it features a washed cotton, hidden buttons and as usual, a unique and interestingly cut pattern.

Battenwear's 5-Pocket Island Shirt is my favorite piece from their spring collection. The casual silhouette and great fabric make for a perfect warm weather piece. The dark red pattern works nicely with navy, olive and white bottoms, providing both versatility and a unique texture.

Each season Engineered Garments is one of the brands I'm most excited to see. Their lookbooks are always interesting, exciting and very well executed. The Fall-Winter '13 offering is no different. With a playful mix of patterns, materials and a few new styles, the latest collection is unsurprisingly one of my favorites.

Through Margaret Howell's MHL collection, the brand continues their work with Converse. This spring they released three colours in the classic All-Star model, but the re-arrival of the simple, paired down, Jack Purcell looks especially nice.
