Alden Tugger Work Boot

42578_2 Again Mister Crew brings us the latest from Seattle with his fine taste and well edited picks. The latest arrival at Blackbird is a great looking plain toe work boot. The boot also features a Alden Goodyear molded rubber sole which usually only shows up in Japan. It fits the boot perfectly but what I really like is the soft looking black leather on the boots. The flat black Novo calf leather is a great choice of material as I find all of the black boots I like come in a shiny, tougher leather when I prefer the soft looking aesthetic that's more prone to get broken in quickly and feel nice and soft. The boots are inspired by the tub boat style of the North West, and have been expressly made for Blackbird. Put these at the top of your holiday list asap because I have a feeling they will be gone quickly. — 42578_142578_342578_5

The Field House

field_house_02 Blackbird have apparently opened a new shop in Ballard to showcase some of their American heritage brands including, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Filson, RRL, Red Wing, Alden and a selection of candles, soaps as well as some vintage garments. Mister Crew reports on the new shop with some nice photos of the space and product being offered. It looks absolutely great to me. The cuttered layout works very nicely with the balance of brick walls, fall coloured flannel and candles and flowers. The product curation is much more focused in this space and everything seems to work together nicely, down to the name. Browsing the images, I can spot at least a handful of items I would love to pick up, there is no information regarding the shop otherwise, so you'll do well to make a trip to Ballard yourself if possible. — field_house_01field_house_03field_house_04field_house_05field_house_07field_house_08field_house_09

Band of Outsiders Batiste Shirts

Is there something wrong with me if I know the shirt isn't going to fit but I want it just as bad still? Regardless, that's what's going on in my head right now with the first of many Band of Outsiders spring arrivals at Blackbird. I'm loving these solid  coloured batiste shirts which are a nice alternative to grainier oxfords. The grey is OK, the black is nice but the red is definitely my favourite. Probably not a shirt you could wear everyday, but a nice vibrant colour for spring that's surprisingly hard to find. Toss a navy linen jacket on overtop and you're set. The contrast button-hole stitching is a nice touch too. I know BoO has become extremely popular lately and I've heard that their garments aren't the best quality and whatnot which turns a lot of people off of but it's still a great label in my opinion. I just wish the shirts were longer.
