The Chore Coat

One of my favorite items I haven't been able to track down this winter is the chore coat. I've been more looking for a vintage find to capture the essence of the jacket and some pre-wear never hurt. The chore coat can be and has been worn throughout America's history by blue collar workers in engineering, labour, construction and several other trades. It often comes in a denim or heavy canvas with a contrast collar usually in a canvas or corduroy. The rounded pockets are easy to scoop anything out of quickly while the piece has been worn as both lightweight outerwear or an over shirt. While I am looking consistently on eBay and in vintage shops, Supreme actually released a really nice version this winter which is now on sale on their online shop. The chore coat might not be a necessity for everyone but it's a great, versatile piece that will definitely be on mind until it's on my back.
