Garbstore Mountain Providence Parka

Garbstore have just put out this 'special edition' version of their Mountain Providence Parka and it might just be the best version yet. I've always liked the cut and details of the parka and the green/tan option was one of the better jackets of the season in my opinion. This royal blue lined with a great japanese flannel looks even more fantastic though. The blue works really well with the white pull cords which I love here and the plaid offers something unique compared to the usual ripstop lining. While it might seem a bit bright, I think it'd be a very easy jacket to pull off. The royal can be worn over any other shade of blue from navy to soft and in any form from a wool suit to a chambray shirt. The various colours in the plaid mean that wearing different reds or greys would work too.

South2 West8 Parka

Here's another pretty good looking parka on the market by Japan's South2 West8. The name is apparently the address of the store and the brand is also under the Nepenthes umbrella along with some of the best Americana-Japanese lines out there. Anyways I really like the Canadian military style chest pocket along with the same mountain parka lower pockets. The metal snap buttons, leather tabs on the hood and perfect colors are pretty good selling points. My only concern would be the fit of the coat. A parka really doesn't have to be very fitted at all, but it still has to be a good length and not too boxy.
