Robert Geller Drifter Coat

robert-geller-drifter-coatRobert Geller is fresh off his new menswear designer award and spring collection is now hitting stores. I wouldn't expect him to change his ways too much in the near future. He seems to bring an interesting mix of really awkward pieces I would never touch, and a good selection of more classic looking items. This Drifter jacket is one of the pieces that falls to the more classic side in terms of its aesthetic. The coat is made of washed cotton/linen and has been sewn up with some French seams - which I generally find to be a good thing. The color of the jacket is nice and versatile and the casual washed material allows for it to be dressed down nicely, the flap body pockets also help with that. It looks good with the lapel up or down which is pretty important for a casual sport coat. It's now available at Odin.

Robert Geller Glasses

rg-glassesRobert Geller's collection has been highlighted with some great frames in the last couple seasons, fortunately for us, he decided to keep them coming. The Marcello and Joseph frames come in black, matte and tortoise with a darker sun-glass lens or a clear lens. I like all of them. I missed out on the matte black Marcellos last fall and then I missed out again on the tortoise frames, so I am trying to make a point of not doing it again this spring. Nomad has a great selection of the spring eyewear now in their Toronto shop. One of the big selling features beyond the great shape and look of the glasses would have to be a very reasonable retail price. The Marcello frames come in at $245 CAN which is pretty tough to beat.

Robert Geller Piped Stand Collar

I believe I had actually blogged about this shirt in white a few months ago when I came across it in store. I don't know why most Robert Geller stockists didn't seem to buy it for their shops but it's a great piece. I hadn't seen it in the dark color until I found it on the Odin website. Not only is the oxford cloth nice and thick, but it fits pretty well and has a great collar. If that isn't enough its only $89 at Odin right now. That is one of the best deals you're going to find on a button down shirt right now without a doubt. I'm definitely going to see if it's still around next week when I'm in town. It's a bit of a bigger fit but it could definitely hold up well in cool spring weather while keeping it casual and comfortable. An all season gem for that price.
