Wtaps Wool Shawl Cardigan

The fall collection from Wtaps features one of their best selections to date in my opinion. The Black Flag store in Tokyo was one of our favourites as well, however several of the key items had already sold through by the time we'd arrived. Fortunately Union in LA have just received a nice shipment including these shawl neck cardigans. Exterior branding has always been something I hate, but Wtaps probably does the best job and making it work. With several hits on the outer of the knit, the sweater still looks great, wearable and provides a bit of an off key option on a classic piece.

Visvim Serra & FBT by Horween

Anybody familiar with Visvim and Hiroki Nakamura knows that the brand is always in search of ways to offer the best product possible. We saw images from Horween's blog about Hiroki's visit earlier this year and we didn't have to wait long to see some of the end results. This fall the legendary FBT and Serra Hiker come curresty of Horween tanned leathers. Well known for their work with Alden and their #8 Cordovan, The somewhat unlikely pair deliver one of the finest versions we've seen in either model. I sort of felt I was personally over the FBT model, or at least not in need of another pair, but these are making me think again. Both pairs are now available at Union LA. —

Carhartt at Union LA

We've been excited to see what Chris Gibbs does with the remaining Union leg since taking over earlier this year. His personal style and taste have left a serious mark in our little world. We will explore more on that in the near future with an in-depth interview and article with Chris coming soon. That said, Chris has managed to wrangle up the first Carhartt Europe Collection account for North America. Union is now stocking a selection of items from the fall offering including these great chambray work shirts. For awhile we've seen the Carhartt Europe line blossom and turn out some great items for good prices. Now we have somewhere to find it in LA. I was excited when Chris told me the news a little while back, but Jake Davis reports on the in-shop stock and reminiscent feeling of visiting Union.
