The current month should prove to be a good one for new issues of good magazines. While ours has finally started hitting shelves and shipping out, Apartamento has finished up their latest effort as well and we are anxiously awaiting its arrival. The magazine has gained a strong following and for good reason. It's interesting, well designed and features some great photography. It should be available by the end of November.

The mercury has been dropping quite a bit as of late and it's definitely come time to start layering up. Fall often means deep dark navy, grey or black, all of which can get a bit too heavy though, so a bit of life is great. The amazing colour is where it starts with Deluxe's McKinley jacket; it's so good it could almost end there too; but it doesn't. It can be easily worn over any of the aforementioned colours and nearly anything thanks to the simple cut and great understated details.

"When the temperature drops, most people pull out the knitwear, but sometimes knitted pieces can feel a little too smart. A plain sweatshirt is the perfect way to forgo formality without sacrificing any warmth. Navy and black are good, but there’s something about grey. Like the white t-shirt, the grey sweatshirt is definitive; that timeless piece that any brand with a sense of American sportswear history does really well. We've just received stock of the fall version from The Real McCoy's and it's one of the finest sweats we've seen. The fleece is sturdy and comfortable and the color and fit is perfect.

One of the strong points of our latest issue is the editorials. Thanks to the fashion direction of Simon Roe, there's a great balance, some interesting brand features and a tightly edited vision overall. For his own story, Simon worked with James Pearson-Howes to produce a rich and dark take on the Woolrich Woolen Mills fall collection. It was shot in East London and features some great looks from this season. James also captured some nice video footage in between photos.

The latest issue of Inventory magazine will be released at Partners & Spade today and the space will be open between 6 and 9pm for a party to celebrate its arrival. Everyone is welcome and I hope to see a lot of our readers and supporters there. We stopped by yesterday to have a look and make sure everything was ready to go, and our candles had arrived just in time to launch at the party too. There will also be copies of all of our previous issues, our Duluth Packs and Viberg boots, the Inventory Edits supplement, and of course the brand new 148 page Issue 03.

Old Faithful has quickly become one of my favorite stores in Vancouver. Besides the space being incredibly beautiful and welcoming, Walter Manning continues to bring in great items from printed matter to furniture to vintage lighting. Right now, he's got a handful of items that are high on my 'want' list, but these wool blankets and canvas laundry baskets are at the top. The blankets are especially nice, and they're also made in Canada. I will definitely be picking one up very soon as the temperature has dropped and we're supposedly in for our worst winter ever in Vancouver.

Issue 03 Launch @ Partners & Spade

I know that some people have been anxiously waiting for it and well, the time has finally come - this week we are proudly launching Issue 03 of Inventory magazine. The new issue is online and available in-store as of today, and will start hitting stockists worldwide over the next two weeks. This coming Friday, we are having an official release party at Partners & Spade in New York. We've set up a small space in their downtown store to showcase some of our Inventory Items, back issues and our Inventory Edits supplement. From Friday, October 29th, Issue 03 will also be available.

New Viberg Hikers

It's getting wet, it's getting cold, it's getting to be about that time when a good, sturdy pair of boots finds their way onto your feet at least five times a week. Viberg has recently made some interesting versions of their classic hikers which could definitely handle that usage. The first comes in a new brown harness leather that's got a great vintage look to it and goes nicely with the classic yellow boot laces and black Vibram Carrarmato sole. The other is a special make-up exclusive to Japan's Barley Harvest Season. While it comes in the familiar chocolate roughout leather, it sit atop an unfamiliar ripple sole. The unexpected change really doesn't alter the overall silhouette or profile of the boot all that much though and offers something unique.
