Warehouse 15th Anniversary Jeans

Words

After producing some of the finest garments in the world for 15 years, Warehouse are celebrating their anniversary with a special pair of jeans due for release in October. Made from a rinsed 14 oz. denim, they feature a combination of details the brothers have used over the years. One of my favorites is the cotton flannel pocket bags. These were originally added to provide warmth, but they also look great, and it's often those subtle details that really take a pair of jeans to the next level.

Leather Man Ltd. Belts

Words

Mr. Mud and Mr. Gold have put together a fine selection of products in their Stockholm store. It's one I only recently found out about when they enquired about selling Inventory. One of the brands they carry that I hadn't heard of before was Leather Man Ltd. They have some great belts from the Connecticut based accessory maker, all of which look well made, use high quality leathers and seem fairly well priced.

Visvim Commodore Coat

01

Images

—01. Windstopper insulation.
—02. Made in Japan.

Words

Made popular by Royal Navy officers during World War II, we suspect that this duffle coat by Visvim was named after Commodore Ericson, who consistently wears a similar coat in the 1953 film 'The Cruel Sea'. Super soft wool outer, Gore Wind-Stopper insulation and a decently sized hood make the jacket perfect for the (much) colder days. The toggles can be unfastened wearing gloves, but a hidden zip and a button at the top secure it even more.

Want: Supreme Varsity Jacket

01

Images

—01. Melton wool in cardinal and navy.

Words

I just want this. The colors and styling are great. It would be a tough decision between the two colors for me, but I am leaning towards the cardinal. The Melton wool is great for the months ahead, the color palette perfect and I can already picture some nice fall outfits that would be easy to wear. And for the price, the jacket feels like a pretty fair deal as well.

Alden Natural Chromexcel Indy

Words

Leffot continue to show off their nice taste in footwear with these fall Indy boots. The model itself is nothing new, but I haven't seen this natural Chromexcel leather used before. It appears to have a really rich tone to it and I'm sure it would show the scuffs of regular wear quite nicely. I'm not 100% on the choice of laces however, I think I would probably use something brown. Moving forward, I would be interested to see this leather used on other models as well.

Last Few Weeks

—01. Tribute to TGF.

Words

I just got some film back the other day and there were a couple of roll ends that got filled up with some daily scenes. All of these shots are from Vancouver - some recognizable, some less so. It's always fun getting photographs back after forgetting about them. Definitely one of the joys usually lost with the digital ways. I've been thinking of trying to get a Leica M6 to take over from my Canon F1, but until then it continues to travel with me as much as possible.

In Stock: Arc'teryx Veilance Align Shell Jacket

01

—02. Made in Canada.

Words

The Arc'teryx Veilance line took me a couple of viewings and a little push to fully embrace. Since I was introduced to the collection however, it has only got better and better. This fall is their most cohesive and solid season to date. The Align Shell Jacket is one of the more simple styles, but it's also probably my favorite. It features a GORE-TEX® 3L Pro Shell MicroGrid outer and has laminated construction which eliminates bulk and stiffness. The 'blueprint' blue also looks amazing in person and seems to go with everything I own. I've been wearing it pretty regularly over the last few months, so it's great to now be selling them in the Stockroom - perfect timing for the rain here in Vancouver.

Visvim for Black Sense

01

Images

—01. Black denim double knee pants.
—02. Black denim chore coat.

Words

I may be a little late on this one, but I just had a closer look at the recent collection Visvim produced for Black Sense. The theme is obviously black, and the star of the show for most people was probably the 7-Hole lugged sole boots. For me however, the dark denim chore coat and double knee pants are definitely my favorite pieces. The coat has an interesting collar shape while the rest of the jacket looks cleanly designed and follows the reference really nicely.
