Mt Rainier Design continues to be one of the mystery brands that are made in the USA under a heritage name, yet the original company seems to have disappeared decades ago. While Crescent Down Works have been receiving a lot of the local press lately, I would have to admit that whoever is behind the outdoor collection at Mr Rainier is doing an even better job. The range isn't big, but it feels complete and has enough different items and accessories to keep it interesting. I love the colours used on some of the parkas, while the unique but classic variety of pockets make me want one of each. The 60/40 fabric seems to be used for most of the collection which is really ideal for spring. It's great that Crescent Down Works has become a bit more available and is being picked up by more shops like Present and J.Crew. There seems to be a growing market for the light weight outerwear which I would hope might lead to somebody tracking down the source of these great items so we might be able to have a little more variety.
