Albam continue to develop and push their products in design and functionality. Their outerwear has been one of the most obvious examples of this as the materials used, simplicity of design and production techniques have all taken steps forward. The Apline jacket will be Albam's first made from Ventile with taped seams and they say it's the ultimate evolution of the Fisherman's Cagoule in terms of performance and functionality. Overall, it's a cleaner design made from a superior fabric. Coming in orange, navy and olive, it will be hitting Albam locations in June.

Whenever I look at Albam, especially the outerwear, I cannot help think that they have took the baton from a certain numerical named independent UK based label and ran with it.... Fair play to them.

Albam make great looking outerwear, and they're one of the few decent brands out there that consistently bring out hooded jackets. But why do they have to make them so big and bulky? Look at these pictures, for example:

I understand that they're making hiking gear and they're trying to be as authentic as possible. But they should realise that their target consumer is as concerned, if not more concerned, with fashion as they are with authenticity. And this goes for their entire collection, especially the knitwear. I like Albam a lot, but they should really improve their cuts.

Interesting point Glenn K. If the brand you refer to begins with a 6 and ends with a 6, then I'd agree in some ways. I think the people that used to buy Kenneth's gear (which seems to be in very short runs these days) now look to brands like Albam, myself included.

Fair play to them too as I think they're doing a great job.

I'd also agree with Glenn, Albam have taken that outwear ideal and surged forward with it but they're made it their own without a doubt.

I really want this jacket, it's a work of art on the inside.

Its A beautiful jacket, but why the taped seams? To my knowledge taped seams isnt needed with ventile.
