Have you noticed that we like socks around here? Big sock guys. Fanatical some of us. So what's not to love, when you love socks, about five vacuum packed pairs of perfect winter weight socks, from Mountain Research?

Available at Garbstore

Erm, maybe the fact that they're £100 for the set? Why don't they sell the pairs individually? Is it their way of maintaining exclusivity?

£95. For 5 socks. If I didn't already know where to draw the line, I do now.

Love the socks. Hate the price.

I hate to be 'that guy', but all these nice winter socks, in cotton? If this brand was actually doing their Research in the Mountains, they would all have frostbite.

Ha ha...big post!

except nobody will go mountaineering in them. GR is nothing but an urban brand inspired by the outdoors.

I suppose for me, being inspired by the outdoors would entail engaging with the rich history of material innovation and specificity to extreme environments. I think that's an important and interesting part of shaping the aesthetic and function of the garments. Although I wear my gear both in the mountains and on the street, I can tell you cotton socks don't feel (or smell) good in a wet winter boot no matter where you are.

If you live in a Kyushu city (like 99% of GR customers) it is easily manageable.
