I've joked around with a few people about who you'd cast for a model if you could get anybody. I think that I would go with Mr. Picasso. Aside from his incredible creative side, he's a pretty cool looking guy. It doesn't seem that easy to find good quality photos of him, but those that I could track down are great. There always seems to be a hint of mischief in his eye, and its hard to go wrong with classic stripes. There is a feeling of confidence about him and the way he carries himself, and his clothes feels strong, yet subtle.

The kitchen and praying mantis shots are great. There's something about an aged gentleman unposed in a b&w photo that holds me for a few extra moments longer than usual. I like.

Good post. The Seattle Art Museum has a large exhibit showing lots of his work right now, on loan from Musée National Picasso (it's ending soon though).

The traveling Picasso exhibit is recently in Seattle and while I had mixed feelings about the work presented there, the historical photos of Pablo were fun. I thought the same thing when viewing them, this guy has style. I love the birdwell britches in the last photo.

I saw a Picasso sculpture exhibit years ago at the Georges Pompideau...it was spectacular. Not sure if anyone else has seen that show, but it blew me away. Sooooo much work - so little of it ever seen. I enjoy your take on his style.

It's really easy to go wrong with 'classic stripes'.

Again, is it really that easy?

Patrick O`Brian`s bio of Picasso is a great read, and a surefire killer of winter gloom. It`s tough to find, but well worth the effort if you can track it down. Macleod`s on Pender is where I found mine.
