Beams Plus Ginghams

Words

Probably the best part about Beams Plus is their shirting. The quality of fabrics, build and fit is very difficult to beat for its price range. There are a handful of good American shirt makers, but Beams Plus might be doing it better; from the silhouette to the quality. We just received two gingham shirts for the spring which look great. Again the fit is spot on, and especially the royal blue option looks perfect.

Beams Plus Spring Collection

01

Images

—01. 50s Chambray work shirt.
—02. Olive herringbone fatigue pants.

Words

Within the last week we've received two of our favorite collections in-store. Both Engineered Garments and Beams Plus are looking very good for the fresh season, highlighted by great fabrics, very good fits and classic styles. The Beams Plus spring offering includes some really great pants with the herringbone fatigues and the subtle tonal polka dot chinos. The chambray work shirt is a new Beams style, which is a great interpretation of a 50s work shirt Kenny had come across. Rounded off with some bow ties, some linen and madras and a restock on the oxford BDs, it's another strong selection, and only available in North America at Inventory.

Beams Plus Shetland Crews

01

Images

—01. Available in navy and grey.

Words

Beams Plus have always done a great job with classic garments. It's what the company's based on, whether it be importing or producing themselves, the end product is usually tough to beat. This fall Beams imported some of the finest traditional Shetland wool to make a couple of simple winter essentials. The only unfortunate thing is that these sweaters come up a little small, but for the folks they do fit, they're a great layering piece, perfect year after year.

Beams Plus Tartan Scarves

01

Images

—02. Made in Scotland.

Words

Our second fall delivery from Beams Plus has arrived at our Vancouver shop, and it includes a couple of great pieces. There's a restock on the BD oxford shirts and bandanas, and we also received some Shetland wool sweaters and classic grey sweatshirts. These wool scarves however might be my favorite items. The wool feels amazing and the simple touch of having one plain side, and one plaid works perfectly. It's a tough choice between the Black watch plaid and the tonal grey. These warm, classic accessories are definitely useful in the winter, especially since the temperature seems to have just dropped significantly

Beams Plus Ring Belt

01

Images

—01. Available in black and brown.

Words

These ring belts are among the fantastic selection of Beams Plus accessories available this season. The light brown looks especially good, although the black isn't bad either. The subtle branding would wear away nicely with time while the clean stitching and perfect sized rings make it one of the better ring belts on the market.

Beams Plus Plaid Twill Scarf

01

Images

—01. Nice length and width.
—02. Cotton twill.
—03. Made in Japan.

Words

Our second delivery from Beams Plus arrived recently and to our pleasant surprise, the red and black plaid flannel items looked and felt better than we remembered. Unlike your usual flannel, the Japanese cotton twill has a slightly more coarse texture, but it's still very soft and feels good on. The strong plaid pattern is perfect on a scarf and works really well with olive, tan and chambray.

Look: From the Stockroom

01

Words

As more and more fall products continue to arrive at the Stockroom, I thought it would be nice to put together a look from the shop once in awhile. We plan on photographing somebody wearing these looks in the future, but haven't found a model just yet. In the meantime, this outfit is simple, comfortable and ideal for the fall. I did have to throw in some socks from J.Press to complete the look, but everything else is currently available from us.
