I've been a fan of Chris Johanson's work since the very first run of Anti Hero skateboard graphics, and it's been interesting to watch his career flourish since; taking him from the underground to the well-respected and well-documented mainstream art world. His most recent show opens this weekend at MOCA in Los Angeles, and like much of Johanson's work, features primitive figures, brightly coloured flourishes, and exceptionally clever titling and word-play. The exhibition has been curated by Andrew Berardini, and features new paintings, sculpture, and found wood site-specific installations.
