Behind the Scenes: A Lasting Impression

One of the strong points of our latest issue is the editorials. Thanks to the fashion direction of Simon Roe, there's a great balance, some interesting brand features and a tightly edited vision overall. For his own story, Simon worked with James Pearson-Howes to produce a rich and dark take on the Woolrich Woolen Mills fall collection. It was shot in East London and features some great looks from this season. James also captured some nice video footage in between photos.

The latest issue of Inventory magazine will be released at Partners & Spade today and the space will be open between 6 and 9pm for a party to celebrate its arrival. Everyone is welcome and I hope to see a lot of our readers and supporters there. We stopped by yesterday to have a look and make sure everything was ready to go, and our candles had arrived just in time to launch at the party too. There will also be copies of all of our previous issues, our Duluth Packs and Viberg boots, the Inventory Edits supplement, and of course the brand new 148 page Issue 03.

Inventory Edits

Words

In the midst of putting together the new issue of the magazine, buying for the shop and working on several collaborations, we decided to produce our second publication – INVENTORY Edits. The large format newsprint supplement will be published once a year, after each volume of the magazine, and will highlight unseen imagery from the feature and focus sections. We have such great contributing photographers and such interesting subjects, that we decided this would be a good outlet to share some of the photographs that didn't make the magazine's pages. The first edition is currently on sale at Partners & Spade in New York, as well as our store in Vancouver and online; Dover Street Market and Self Edge LA will be receiving their copies very soon.

First off, we'd like to thank everybody who has bought a copy of Inventory magazine in the last 10 months. The support has been incredible from retailers and individuals alike. We knew it was a bit risky printing a magazine in today's market, but we knew there would at least be a few people out there who might buy it. Now, after two issues, we are nearly sold out of both Issue 01 and 02. I just wanted to let everyone know that we are down to the last boxes and if you have been waiting to buy a specific cover or issue, they won't be around much longer - especially the Margaret (02), Kenny (02) and Yuki (01) covers.

Thanks again for all the support.

Albam has been one of the biggest supporters and sellers of our magazine and it's been great to work with the company over the last year. While they've helped spread our product, they have grown at a tremendous rate themselves over the last 12 months. Since I met James and the crew last summer, they've added two more shops and a number of new products. On my recent visit to London I was able to see the Spitalfields shop and quite liked the new space. I would have to say it's my favorite Albam shop of the three locations and it was nice to see the increasingly nice selection of print alongside the increasingly good offering of soft goods.

It’s been a long and challenging road to go from the first magazine with no expectations and no distribution to publishing our second issue. Now having it on the shelves of some of our favorite stores around the world in a timely matter is the next step as we await for our shipment of 8,000 magazines coming back from the printer. Earlier this week we looked over the last of the proofs with much excitement. We can’t wait to get the new issue into our hands, your hands and onto the racks. It’s now available for pre-order in the Stockroom – both covers. We are anticipating shipping to commence on May 15th, and we’ll publish a comprehensive list of our stockists shortly after.
