Words

I know that some people have been anxiously waiting for it and well, the time has finally come - this week we are proudly launching Issue 03 of Inventory magazine. The new issue is online and available in-store as of today, and will start hitting stockists worldwide over the next two weeks. This coming Friday, we are having an official release party at Partners & Spade in New York. We've set up a small space in their downtown store to showcase some of our Inventory Items, back issues and our Inventory Edits supplement. From Friday, October 29th, Issue 03 will also be available.

Please join us in celebrating the launch of the new issue and pick up your copy before they're all gone.

Inventory Edits

Words

In the midst of putting together the new issue of the magazine, buying for the shop and working on several collaborations, we decided to produce our second publication – INVENTORY Edits. The large format newsprint supplement will be published once a year, after each volume of the magazine, and will highlight unseen imagery from the feature and focus sections. We have such great contributing photographers and such interesting subjects, that we decided this would be a good outlet to share some of the photographs that didn't make the magazine's pages. The first edition is currently on sale at Partners & Spade in New York, as well as our store in Vancouver and online; Dover Street Market and Self Edge LA will be receiving their copies very soon.

Words

First off, we'd like to thank everybody who has bought a copy of Inventory magazine in the last 10 months. The support has been incredible from retailers and individuals alike. We knew it was a bit risky printing a magazine in today's market, but we knew there would at least be a few people out there who might buy it. Now, after two issues, we are nearly sold out of both Issue 01 and 02. I just wanted to let everyone know that we are down to the last boxes and if you have been waiting to buy a specific cover or issue, they won't be around much longer - especially the Margaret (02), Kenny (02) and Yuki (01) covers.

Thanks again for all the support.

Albam has been one of the biggest supporters and sellers of our magazine and it's been great to work with the company over the last year. While they've helped spread our product, they have grown at a tremendous rate themselves over the last 12 months. Since I met James and the crew last summer, they've added two more shops and a number of new products. On my recent visit to London I was able to see the Spitalfields shop and quite liked the new space. I would have to say it's my favorite Albam shop of the three locations and it was nice to see the increasingly nice selection of print alongside the increasingly good offering of soft goods.

It’s been a long and challenging road to go from the first magazine with no expectations and no distribution to publishing our second issue. Now having it on the shelves of some of our favorite stores around the world in a timely matter is the next step as we await for our shipment of 8,000 magazines coming back from the printer. Earlier this week we looked over the last of the proofs with much excitement. We can’t wait to get the new issue into our hands, your hands and onto the racks. It’s now available for pre-order in the Stockroom – both covers. We are anticipating shipping to commence on May 15th, and we’ll publish a comprehensive list of our stockists shortly after.

Behind the Scenes

Cody-1 While I know some readers think we just sit at our computers shopping from Japanese online stores all day long, we only really do that at night. It's been a hectic journey between issues of the magazine and it hasn't been easy to say the least. There have been some exciting developments going on beyond the second issue of Inventory magazine and it's been fun and challenging to balance everything. Our second issue is shaping up really well and we are excited to wrap it up in the near future and have it out for the spring–summer season. In the meantime we wanted to share a few images from behind the scenes over the last week or so. We've done a couple photo shoots that went really well and should turn out nicely and we couldn't be more excited about the months to come. — Photographs by Owen Parrott BeauK-1Plant-Chair-1Tay-Nick-1Flower-1Warehouse-1

INVENTORY magazine in London

Inventory in London Some of you may have noticed copies of INVENTORY magazine popping up around London over the course of the last week. Our stockists in the capital have all received their first deliveries and I'm told the reaction has been great - the inaugural issue has been selling very well. If you're one of those who's already bought one, we really appreciate the support and hope you're enjoying it. If you're in London and haven't picked up a copy yet you can do so at either of the Albam stores, Monocle, Oliver Spencer, Garbstore and Fernandez & Wells on Beak Street. If you're in the UK but not in London, Superdenim, The Bureau, Oi Polloi and End will also have copies available very soon. We're still talking to other potential stockists, and by the end of the week we hope to have confirmed a new partnership that would be a massive honour for us. Suffice to say we'll keep you posted. In the meantime, we'd like to thank everyone (readers and retailers) who has bought the magazine so far.
