Engineered Garments Spring Workaday Tees

Words

The Engineered Garmetns Workaday tee received a number of print treatments this spring. Some of them were available last fall, but some of the image prints, which are my favorites, are now available this spring. The crossover collar, chest pocket and nice cut make this a great summer tee.

Staples: Engineered Garments Workaday Fatigues

Words

I can't really say any of the Engineered Garments Workaday pieces aren't staples for myself, but the Olive Sateen fatigues are probably one of the best items they offer. Always a classic, the wide leg pant has just the right balance of clean detailing, reference to the original vintage version and updated fit. While that doesn't refer to the width of the leg, the cut of the pants and the way the fabric in particular washes and wears is really nice.

Words

While I'm sad to be away from the shop during our first deliveries, I am pretty excited about carrying the Workaday collection this spring. One of the items I had been on the hunt for since I first saw it, was the canvas tote bag in natural. It's one of the best canvas bags I've come across and I really like the subtle details on the webbing, more so on the natural bag. They are pretty tough to come by, pretty much impossible outside of Japan and the Nepenthes store, so I was excited to see they arrived in the first few boxes from Engineered Garments this season.

Engineered Garments isn't sold online, so email us or call us anytime for more information.

Fall Again: Workaday Cords

Words

It's definitely getting into the heart of corduroy season as the colors of autumn fill the sidewalks and streets. Just in time for the season, The Bureau have received their fall shipment from Engineered Garments, including the Workaday collection. The cords come in five colors, but the olive, burgundy and tan are definitely my favorites. You can't go wrong with the straight leg, colors and details, but make sure you size up if you buy a pair online as they fit quite small.

Engineered Garments Workaday Oxfords

EG Workaday Oxfords Visiting the Engineered Garments store in Tokyo yesterday was one of my highlights of the day, needless to say. Seeing the full collection together in one place, curated nicely with bags by Duluth and Wm J Mills as well as shoes by Russell Moccasin and Hawthorn was something special and I look forward to going back again on this trip. The beauty of Engineered Garments is in the basics, of course. With everything around, all the items I love and want, the items that I still get excited about seeing in person were these Workaday oxfords. Call me boring, but I love seeing these classic shirts on the 19th Century block, heavy weight oxford cloth, beautifully washed out stripes, dead stock buttons and the familiar single needle tailoring. If you're not in Japan, they are also available at The Bureau.

One Rinse Workaday Denim by Engineered Garments

Workaday Denim 02 The Workaday collection from Engineered Garments has definitely been on my mind this fall as they offered the best pair of cords I've come across. The items are so simple and basic, but have great cuts, top quality and the most essential of design. Beyond the heavy weight oxford BDs and corduroy pants, the one rinse selvage denim now have my eye. The cut is the same as the cords, so you have to size up, but once you do the fit through the legs, the rise and straight cut is perfect. The jeans have an interesting weave and I love the look of the white selvage line. If I hadn't been living in my rinsed 1966 SCs I would have snapped these up by now. Look | Something for Fall

look-something-to-wearI never really know what sparks these outfits but today I'm sure it was the SNS Herning Gang Cardigan. It's the perfect layering piece with the right cut, the right buttons and this amazing color really grabbed my attention. Chambray had to be it's best pair in my mind, followed by the Junya x Baracuta G4. With the use of these different single color items, I decided it would be best to stick with the theme as I went with the burgundy Workaday cords and the olive Porter x Monocle tote. The JS Homestead socks are of course hot on my mind from yesterday and the perfect low cut oxford boots finish off the look. Although I only own a couple of these items, it is a pretty good example of the sort of thing I would wear all fall long. The oxfords and cardigan are high on my list of items right now, while I'm waiting for the slightly modified version of the Porter x Monocle tote with longer handles which I will be receiving in November.
