Words

Every fall I wonder again why I've yet to pick up a Ten C jacket for myself. With several excellent styles available, countless colours and various liner options, it's hard not to find something that could easily become your winter jacket of choice. Haven have received a fair few new fall styles, and seeing the various combinations on offer has me questioning my shopping habits once again.

Has the Korean War resumed? I suspect that $2500 might be sufficient reason for most of us. SuperDenim UK has the Real McCoy's Parka Shell M-1951 classic fishtail in stock at a more modest price sans liner. Both the Ten C and Real McCoy's appear to be excellent examples of this timeless classic. It might be noted that SuperDenim UK allows its customers to return merchandise for a full refund. How progressive of those Brits!

Go on the forums and you will see these are not worth the money. Loads of complaints about its claim to be waterproof.

What forums? Was thinking about saving up for a Ten C jacket but non-waterproof is a deal breaker.

I don't believe the U.S. Army issue M-48, M-51, or M-65 parkas were ever waterproof. I had an M-65 given to me by my uncle. It was water repellent to a degree, but not waterproof. Rain ponchos were standard issue to protect against heavy rain. These parkas were designed to protect against wind and cold. Inhospitable weather was a major factor for soldiers in the Korean War. The fishtail parka is about style and its storied history. The Mods knew this.

I picked up the snow smock and was less than impressed, returning it for a refund. It's an apt acronym.

I also have a snow smock and love it. The problem people seem to be having with the ten c jackets is that their not cleaning them! I do a lot of outdoor activities while wearing goretex/e vent clothing, and when they get dirty they lose there water repellency. If your having this problem, wash your jacket with nikwax tech wash, then use tx wash in to re proof it. Mine beads water like a ducks back!
