This spring Visvim have cut the top off one of their most revered models, the Virgil Folk. The low cut version is available in four colours and is made in a luxurious elk suede leather.

@Dr. Ockhurts It would look just like any other derby shoe or plain toe if it didn't have that plastic visvim heel tab.

Visvim are always mixing old and new technologies, natural and synthetic materials. the heel thing is just an extension of that and Plastic is part of the palette (see lamina backpacks). It looks awkward but it's a specific aesthetic decision, as well as a branding exercise. I'm not a fan particularly myself, but if you take away all the visvim bells and whistles you'd be left with a pair of Clark's essentially.
