I suspect we'll be seeing more of the Individualized Shirts range more in the coming seasons since they have started to show at Capsule. The brand offers a lot of customization and a basic shirt block. This patchwork plaid is a nice way to offer something relatively subtle and unique.

Although this excellent documentary originally came out in 2010, it took me until this past week to finally get around to viewing it. Thanks Netflix. I highly recommend that if it's cold and wet out where you are, or you otherwise have a little time on your hands this weekend, that you track down a copy and take in the work of one of Britain's most well-known and influential architects. After all: who doesn't love the Gherkin?

There are things out there that you need, and there are things out there that you want; some of them are reasonable, others are not. This 1970s coat stand by the Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson, isn't something I need, and it's hardly a reasonable purchase (it's also not one I can actually make), but that does not make it any less desirable, nor any more rational a desire.

—01-02. Cognac leather.
I've been pretty stuck in my footwear ways for the last few months, but seeing these Paraboots in person definitely had me considering them. The cognac leather has a nice soft feel and the colour is especially good on this classic model.

The month of January continues to be busy. Between buying, flying, line sheets and contractors, it's been an especially packed start to the new year. New York has reached some extreme temperatures this week as well, but it hasn't got in the way of us visiting some of our favorite showrooms and retailers around the city.

—01-04. "Design is always education."
While brutally cold yesterday, New York still offers plenty of interesting things to take your mind off the numbness of your fingers, and the chill in your bones. Popping into Matter for a some respite in the afternoon I was reminded once again of my admiration for Enzo Mari's Sedia 1 Chair. Sold as a kit containing the pinewood boards, nails and instructions needed to assemble the chair, it is produced by Artek and was originally part of Mari's Autoprogettazione project from 1974.
