02. 2-way zip with suede pull.

Words

The Bureau has introduced Golden Bear Sportswear to their offering this season with a selection of leather and suede baseball jackets from the classic American outerwear company. While the various brown tones available are a natural choice for this style, the dark navy suede option has an understated quality that makes it especially appealing.

Words

“In preparing for a solo exhibition, American painter Landon Metz was commissioned to portray his work process in his New York based West Street Studio through a camera lens, for two intensive weeks. The limited edition photo-book is unique in its kind as the art form differs from that of the artist's signature. The book contains a 4-paged conversation between Landon Metz and American art curator Diego Cortez, as well as a poem written by the author.”

Shanana Mil US Army M-65 Mechanic Pants

01

Images

01. Embroidered deadstock M-65 pants.
02. 100% cotton.

Words

Of all the items I've seen riding the wave of modified army apparel, these pants are probably my favourite because the fit has not been modified by multiple reconfigured panels. Reserved for the cargo pockets, the primitive embroidery adds a welcome punch of colour to the cotton OD fabric, but otherwise these are a classic pair of deadstock military cargos and nothing more.

Chris John Dewitt in America

01

Image

—01. The Cornwall Building, New York 1987.

Words

I recently came across an interesting collection of photos taken by Chris John Dewitt during his visits to America in the 1970s and '80s. He covers cities like New York and Los Angeles, but also everywhere in-between, in both black and white and colour. He includes notes and information with each image: telling us where it was taken and what has changed in the location since. It’s a fun read as well as a valuable resource.

Images

01. Mesh front.
02. 2-way YKK zipper.

Words

Best used as an integrated organizing system, this small pouch, from the inimitable Porter Yoshida company, utilizes a unique and simple means of access, accomplished in one action – just like tearing open a bag of chips. The front side is also mesh, making it even easier to see where a particular item might be if you can’t remember.

Derek Wilson Ceramics at The Bureau

01

Images

01. Porcelain Pourer.
02. Terracotta Bowl.

Words

The Bureau, who perpetually offer some of the best products around, have commissioned a neighbour of theirs, potter Derek Wilson, to produce a limited run of ceramics. There are two porcelain beakers that would work perfectly in daily use, but it is this tapered terracotta bowl and olive coloured porcelain pourer that stood out. They're a little different, and they seem like the kind of items that everyone would have a use for, but might not have in their cupboard already.
