Sacai Drawcord Flannel Shirt

The idiosyncratic Japanese label, Sacai, seems to be popping up at a lot more stockists this season, and that’s particularly exciting because the Fall-Winter ’15 collection looks really strong. Haven has received a range of shirts, pants and outerwear, many of which feature the brand’s now signature drawcord waistband. Their inventive take on a common sportswear feature transforms this fairly regular cotton flannel shirt into a unique modern classic – with equally high-level design detailing apparent across the offering.

Sacai just showcased their latest collection in Paris. Continuing on from past seasons, the brand's playful mix of pattern and fabric creates an interesting conversation between texture and silhouette. Falling somewhere between traditional tailoring and luxury sportswear, the Japanese label provides a progressive take on classic men's pieces.

Although it's hard to imagine this as a standalone piece, I do immediately take to anything that looks like it could have been part of the wardrobe from 2001: A Space Odyssey or Solaris. It possesses that strange 1970s approach to tech, something I always find endearing.
