It took a little while for Bedwin's Fall collection to arrive in shops outside of Japan but it's been worth the wait. I've been pleased to see that a couple of shops brought in one of my favourite pieces from the collection — the 'Alvin' chore coat. Made from indigo Japanese denim, the coat features subtle hickory stripes that give it a nice lighter tone of blue. This is complimented well by white stitching and a sand coloured leather collar. The pocket configuration is great and unlike many similar coats, the smaller buttons are a nice size and their variety is a nice nod to vintage versions.

The first thing to be completed for our third issue was Stayed North Too Long. The editorial, produced by Nicholas Haggard, Natasha Devereux, Philip Watts and myself, was shot in New York at the beginning of May. I stumbled across these behind the scenes images again recently, and thought they made a nice addition to the overall story.

Head Porter Plus Quilted Shirt

I recently rediscovered a similar shirt to this in my closet and it's been getting plenty of wear in the cold. It's heather grey though and it has left me coveting one in a darker colour. The unassuming cut makes it perfectly simple and the diamond stitched quilting gives it a nice bit texture. Whether under a coat or on its own as a light jacket, it would get plenty of wear from me now and in future.

Alden Ranger Moc

Slush, ice and salt are wreaking havoc on many sidewalks right now which make this version of the Alden Ranger Moc particularly useful. The heavily oiled chamois leather coupled with the crepe plantation sole and waxed flat laces provide plenty of protection from the elements — on a shoe too, which is a nice option when a lot of the time boots might seem like the only choice. The darker tobacco colour looks great too, especially with denim or darker chinos I'd imagine.
