Nepenthes Melange Socks

Words

Nepenthes do a lot of things right, at least in my opinion. One of the constants is their melange socks which they seem to do all year round. Fortunately with the opening of the Nepenthes store in New York this fall, they might actually be easy to purchase in the near future.

Preview: Arc'teryx Veilance

Words

Arc'teryx has done so much to push the boundaries of garment construction in the last couple of decades, and the Veilance collection represents another giant stride forwards. It combines all their knowledge and history with a desire to explore technical tailoring and functionality through a more minimal aesthetic. It's a brand we're really looking forward to this fall, particularly as we spend so much of our time between London, Vancouver and New York. Honeyee recently previewed two new styles, and I'm a big fan of the Align - especially in blue - which will be arriving in the Stockroom next month.

Northwest Summer

Words

And then there is the reason for not wanting to wear fall clothing... The Northwest can be a very beautiful place, especially when seen through the lens of a talented photographer. These shots definitely capture some of the beauty of summer in Vancouver and the surrounding Northwest. They also make me a little jealous after spending the majority of my summer indoors in front of a computer. Jennilee is one of the creators of 01 magazine, an online publication from Vancouver.

In Stock: Engineered Garments CPO Shirts

01

Words

For some reason I was especially excited for the CPO shirts by Engineered Garments this fall. They are easy to wear over a t-shirt, thermal or another shirt, and the weight and cut are perfect. As usual Daiki hasn't over designed anything either and simple touches like the tonal paisley lining and considered fabrics make it much better than other options out there. Black and navy are also the ideal colors for a CPO shirt. I've already tried to wear mine once on a rare cool evening, but realistically it will have to wait another month before being put into heavy rotation.

Deck Towels

Words

With fall collections beginning to hit the stores, it's starting to feel like summer is nearing an end. Local temperatures, however, aren't really cooling down. If you still have a couple of weeks, or even months, left on your yacht, then you should definitely have a nice looking deck towel on board. Partners & Spade recently found some great options.

Ts(s) Navy Military Pants

01

Images

Words

Fatigues or military pants are one of my favorites when it comes to casual trousers. Lately I've been really liking herringbone twill fabrics too, so that makes the combination on these ts(s) pants very appealing. The fit is also quite trimmed down from what you might find on an EG or vintage version. That would definitely be a bonus for some, and something I'm not opposed to either.

Words

The Red Wing Shoe Company is one of the biggest brands to benefit from the current trend in menswear. Some have begun to shy away from their products because of the recent rise in popularity, but the majority remain steadfast in their support of one of America's finest brands. It's a company that makes a good product, and always will. I have become a loyal fan over the last few years, not because of their marketing, their presence at Capsule or their push for new colorways, but because their boots are well made, look great and work as well in the city as they do in the field. Last summer we were fortunate to be given access to the Red Wing tannery and shoe factory in Minnesota and these photographs, taken by Randy Douglas, provide a unique look behind the scenes.

Wtaps, Tet & Grind

Words

The fall collection from Wtaps has recently debuted online. The brand itself is one of my favorites from Japan because of the way it balances traditional techniques and reference points with new ideas. For me, it's also the best brand around when it comes to effective exterior branding, which is no easy feat. These images from the latest issue of Grind magazine feature Tet in a series of looks from the new collection. The black and white shots have a great mood and provide an interesting look at the clothing worn effortlessly by the brand's designer and creative director.
