"The issue titled 'The Evolution of a Color' is dedicated to the release of the Red Wing Shoes 4558 Oro-Russet 8" Moc Toe. The "Irish Setter" was introduced by Red Wing Shoes in 1949, designed as an outdoors hunting boot. It was originally manufactured with "Russet Red" leather, but the leather on the 8" boot has changed over time. This Nouvelle de Nîmes explores the evolution of the Oro-Russet leather and traces back its roots and rich history."

There are few boots better than Red Wing's 6" moc toe in my opinion. With all of the options out there, I still find it hard to wear another boot come fall. The Oro-Russet leather has a great red-ish tone, which looks perfect with both chinos and denim.

The re-release of Red Wing's classic Irish Setter leather was all over Japan. The brighter colored boots feel great and the color looks amazing in person. I also like the stamp used on the vintage inspired models. Unfortunately these won't be coming to our part of the market for a couple of seasons at least.

It's now the second week of September and although its still pretty warm in Vancouver, I can't help but look forward to some early fall attire. The knitwear from Margaret Howell, oxford shirts, fatigue pants and Red Wings all feel like they are ready for some wear. No matter the season however, olives, blues and suedes seem to be a continuous thread. They always seem to work well together, and especially when a couple more layers are involved.
