I'm always on the search for the perfect chinos. It's a search that may never end, but after looking at these pants online, they might be worth checking out. Made with an 8 oz. brushed cotton canvas and finished with a triple needle stitch, they appear to have a nice cut and come in a nice light tone.

Carhartt x Adam Kimmel

"The overwhelming majority of the lineup is weather workwear, which is casual wear, but I've been careful to slip in some blazers and button downs to create more formal options for people who love the Carhartt brand. I am selling these clothes at Barney's and other fine shops. And the greatest challenge is keeping that rugged look while infusing the garments with technical fabrics and silhouettes that justify the higher price point. I may be biased, but I think I’ve achieved that in the collection." —Adam Kimmel

Adam Kimmel Fall Items

01

Info

—01. Carhartt Jacket & Casual Trousers.

Words

Adam Kimmel doesn't get a lot of attention on our Updates, but that isn't really for any good reason. I think that each season the collection looks quite nice, from the concepts to the execution. The garments are nicely made, not overdone for the most part, and there are always some interesting details. Along with the recent Carhartt collaboration, some of his new items have arrived in Sweden for the season.

Adam Kimmel For Supreme

Words

The spring collaboration between Adam Kimmel and Supreme has been hyped up enough, but I think the product does deserve a good look. With simple detailing, nice fabrics and a good fit, the two companies have put out a nice product. Especially the navy cotton twill suit, which works nice separately, would prove to be a great piece to have. Read the interviews below, and you can also catch the Adam Kimmel jacket in the spring Supreme editorial in our latest issue of Inventory.

Adam Kimmel F/W

I'm going to try not to keep posting too many previews of the fall collections but there are some that are definitely worth mentioning, even if they have been blogged else where. Adam Kimmel's unique perspective on menswear has been developing in a great direction the last couple seasons. Whether it's a great concept for a look book or his choice of models, Kimmel seems to be bringing a breath of fresh air into the collection to keep the traditional and classic items a bit more interesting. Most of the winter looks are very comfortable with room to live your daily life. A lot of greys with a nice touch of dark green. I think the deep shade of green can be a tough color to wear in large portions like pants or a suit, but with the right footwear and layering Adam Kimmel has it looking pretty decent.

Paris Highlights

Foie Gras: I ate it every chance I got. Duck and Goose, it’s the best. I had it raw with salt, fried and sautéed. Only a year ago I had it for the first time and it took some time to fall in love.  I pretty much can’t eat enough now. It’s a little bit harder to find at home and the portions in Paris are definitely more generous. I highly recommend get down if you want to step your food game up. Colette Sale: Sure, a sale a Colette doesn’t sound super exciting, but it was. It was the first time I could try on pieces by Adam Kimmel, Commes des Garcons Thom Browne, Uniform Experiment and a few others. I was in heaven. I tried on everything I could find. Colette’s buying is very select from each designer but they pretty much have the best of the best. It turned out a lot of things were in my size and fit incredibly. Thom Browne and Comme des Garcons in particular were my favorites. Of course they were probably the least affordable. I made one purchase at 50% and left happy. Le Marais: It was my favorite part of town. A beautiful mix of shops, galleries and small cafes. I really love the wood storefronts, big windows and open spaces. I found myself ducking down every side street I could find in hopes of finding a gem. APC, French Trotter, Muji and Tsumori Chisato also make the shopping worth the visit. Some of the other highlights in brief were the abundance of wines, especially from Cotes de Rhone; Gigondas and Vacaras. Also just walking the city, it was dry and sunny, although chilly. Good strolling weather for visiting some beautiful stores.
