Words

Quietly released last week by independent clothing label Bianca Chandôn, Best of Friends is the first record by & Co. The group is made up of Alex Olson, Alberto Bof and Paul T., who met one another in California through surfing and skateboarding. The trio's debut 12-inch "blends the piano-heavy, slo-mo style of Still Going, with twinkling jazz pianos, an air of humid Balearic sunshine, and occasional flashes of Timothy J. Fairplay style acid."

Style.com Article: Bianca Chandôn by Alex Olson

Words

Alex Olson's small label has slowly been picking up momentum in the past year and with a variety of press recently, including this piece on Style.com, that looks set to continue. While his roots are in skateboarding, Bianca Chandôn doesn't feel overly like a skate brand, which is the intention. Taking reference from elements of gay and disco culture, and specifically the film Paris is Burning, Olson's sense of humour and consciously ambiguous messages give the young brand a fresh energy and an undiluted feel.
