One of New York’s preeminent select shops, Blue in Green, is poised to launch a new website, with the updated design currently being beta-tested. The layout is familiar and easy to shop, similar to their sister site for The Real McCoy’s NYC, which always allows the product to take centre stage. Head on over and check out the wide range of premium denim and hard to find clothing on this fresh, functional platform.

The Real McCoy's Chino Cloth Cowboy Shirt

01. Pearl snap buttons.

Words

Though they come and go in my rotation, I’ll always have a place for a snap front western shirt in my closet. Surprisingly I don’t own a short-sleeved version, but this option by The Real McCoy’s is likely to be one of the best around. The brand's designs are tough to beat and this is no exception, offering a confluence of appealing details such as simple styling, durable materials and an easy to wear colour, most suitably worn with jeans or dark pants.

Buco Prisoner Shirt

01. Selvage chambray.

Words

I’m sure there aren’t all that many people who court the appearance of an escaped convict and rightly so, but after watching Jim Jarmusch’s Down By Law this look seems like a great casual option to me. Having made a vast array of chambray shirting over the years, this might be my favourite one yet from The Real McCoy’s, which is branded under their Buco license. The overall cut looks exceptional, as do the fabric and utilitarian prison graphics, though one should probably take care not to be mistaken for an inmate gone AWOL.

Brown’s Beach 003 Jacket

Words

Fall-winter always has me returning to see what pieces Blue in Green have picked up in the inimitable Brown’s Beach fabric from the company of the same name. This season the basic chore coat style in Oxford Grey is a real standout. Featuring a dual-face weave for the warmth of a heavy sweater, these reproductions – an exclusive to the New York shop in the American market – are just as hardwearing and well-styled as they were in the early half of the 20th century.

Fullcount Lightweight Katsuragi Jeans

Words

As soon as the dog days of summer roll around, I always find myself thinking about lightweight, pale jeans for that casual hot weather look. Perfect with Aloha shirts or similar summer options, this pair features a slim fit, which is the only way to wear to ivory coloured jeans, in my opinion.

Summer may well be on its last legs, but the heat of August must still be suffered before the more forgiving and usually cooler September arrives. It's at about this time when I've worn in and worn out almost all of my summer T-shirts, and am quite frankly sick of wearing the same two or three things every day. These mid and heavy weight loopwheel T-shirts from Studio D'Artisan might be a little on the expensive side, but when they're 50% of your entire outfit, the price starts to look a little more reasonable.
