Unused Hooded Denim Coat

01

Images

01. 13.5oz cotton denim.
02. Removable hood.

Words

While some may think this is a lot of denim to use for a full-length piece of outerwear, I consider this hooded coat from Unused to be a truly impressive take on the classic M-51 parka. Fairly true to the original US military design – minus the epaulets – the detailing looks impeccable. What I’d be most intrigued to see though, is the fades it will pick up after a few years of regular wear.

Hersey Original Running Shoes

01

01. Handcrafted in Maine.

Words

In 1985 the Hersey DPS was ranked the #1 running shoe on the planet by Runners World magazine. Despite this badge of honour, the company seems to have stayed largely under the radar. Now receiving a lot more attention in Japan, with numerous stores stocking a range of their basic yet innovative styles, they're the perfect choice if you're looking for something unique, resoleable and almost entirely free from overt branding.

Nonnative Dweller Down Vest

Words

Once again Nonnative's fall collection looks very impressive. The tones, the layers, the fabrics and the lengths of the garments all seem to go perfectly with one another, but looking at things individually, there are several standout items. This down vest comes in four colours and provides just enough insulation, while offering a unique look with its vertical tubes and round collar.

K&R Ceramics

Words

Sometimes it takes turning to shops outside of your own continent to discover products that are produced closer to home. That's certainly the case with these ceramics produced by Kat Hutter and Roger Lee. Handmade in Los Angeles, their pottery serves a number of practical purposes and has a decidedly West Coast flavour that looks great in its own right.
