Heller's Cafe 1930s Duck Print Field Jacket

01. Corduroy collar.
02. Olive interior.

Words

This Heller’s Cafe piece, based on 1930s references from Larry McKaughan’s acclaimed vintage collection, looks like a hunting jacket mixed with the classic American coaches style. The details, which include an interesting diagonal print, a rounded corduroy collar and leather reinforced pockets, are impressive too, thanks as ever to the reproduction masters at Warehouse.

Heller's Cafe One-Pocket Work Shirt

Words

I really like the reproductions that Heller's Cafe produces with Warehouse. They're authentic looking garments, based on pieces from the early half of the 20th century that would not shy away from a hard day's work, but not generally worn for the same tasks these days.

In Stock: Heller's Cafe

Words

We were pleased to be offered the Heller's Cafe x Warehouse collection by our friend Larry earlier this year. The collection has grown well in Japan since its inception, but outside of J.Crew it's been tough to track down. This spring we were able to get our hands on some of our favorite flannels and printed tees, as well as a really unique sweatshirt and a great work shirt. The pieces have already been moving out the door quickly, and the numbers are limited.

Heller's Cafe Knit Football Jersey

Words

The Heller's Cafe collection has continued to impress and this spring includes some really nice pieces. Although they look simple at first, its the quality and small details, along with the fabric choice and top notch production by Warehouse that really set them apart. I think it takes handling a product like this to really get a good sense of its value. This football shirt is one of the few pieces I've yet to see in person, but I'm hoping to get a look soon.

Words

The canoe pack has definitely become more popular again thanks to companies like Duluth and Frost River continuing to produce their classics, and modern brands recognising the authenticity and functionality of their designs. This fall Heller's Cafe have produced a beautiful rendition that's been made in Japan by Warehouse. The bag is made from a selvedge canvas and features some top quality leather accents and metal hardware.

Heller's Cafe x Warehouse Tees

Words

Sometimes it's the most simple things that strike a chord. While recently visiting Heller's Cafe, I had a chance to look through the Heller's Cafe x Warehouse collection. The denim, washes and shirting were all beautifully done, but these simple athletic t-shirts are what I really loved. Yes, it's an $80 t-shirt in Japan, probably $140 in North America, but it's one fine piece of clothing and arguably the best t-shirt you'll find.

Words

Heller's Cafe has had a large impact on North American brands as one of the leading vintage showrooms in the US. Designers, directors and creatives have been making the trip out to Seattle for years to visit the acclaimed showroom and to get inspired by what Larry has found. More recently, Heller's Cafe have been collaborating with Japan's Warehouse on a number of items to build up what is one of the more interesting vintage inspired collections available. This summer the two brands produced these 'Side Buckle Work Pants' in a special wash for J.Crew. The pants are limited to 18 pairs and will be available at J.Crew in New York as of today.
