J.Crew Pocket Squares

01

Words

That sakura indigo pattern seems to be making its way around New York in the past couple of seasons, but I don't mind, its great. I've been hunting for it myself, but haven't been able to find the supplier since seeing The Hillside, FSC and Wayne Pate use it. J.Crew have found the swatch card however and made some neat little pocket squares. Both indigo dyed fabrics look great and would be a nice accent to pretty much any cotton garment I'd wear.

Edit: Hillside also have made pocket squares using this fabric, this season, which are now available at Context.

Heller's Cafe x Warehouse Canoe Pack

Words

The canoe pack has definitely become more popular again thanks to companies like Duluth and Frost River continuing to produce their classics, and modern brands recognising the authenticity and functionality of their designs. This fall Heller's Cafe have produced a beautiful rendition that's been made in Japan by Warehouse. The bag is made from a selvedge canvas and features some top quality leather accents and metal hardware.

Warehouse & J.Crew

Words

Probably my favorite thing that J.Crew is doing right now is their work with Warehouse. The Japanese company is one of the best in the world when it comes to classic reproductions. Both pairs of jeans look beautiful in person and have the same single rinse wash. I have always loved the cinch back so the 700J model would be my choice if I was in the market for another pair of jeans right now. The sweatshirt looks great as well, but there is only one size available and it's worth trying on before purchasing. It fits quite small and definitely stays true to its 50s athletic reference. That said, if it fits, add some boots and a military jacket to the mix and you're all set for the fall.

Words

Heller's Cafe has had a large impact on North American brands as one of the leading vintage showrooms in the US. Designers, directors and creatives have been making the trip out to Seattle for years to visit the acclaimed showroom and to get inspired by what Larry has found. More recently, Heller's Cafe have been collaborating with Japan's Warehouse on a number of items to build up what is one of the more interesting vintage inspired collections available. This summer the two brands produced these 'Side Buckle Work Pants' in a special wash for J.Crew. The pants are limited to 18 pairs and will be available at J.Crew in New York as of today.

J.Crew Shorts

—03. Swim trunks in seersucker.

Words

One thing I seem to buy from J.Crew regularly is their shorts. The fit, fabric and price point are difficult to beat. Even when I might like another option a bit more, J.Crew can often offer a similar version for less than half the price - and I never really feel great about spending a lot on shorts. This summer, like most, there is a nice variety of chino cotton, seersucker and plaid available. From around $40-60 you can easily acquire just what's needed for the heat and these are a a couple of my preferred styles.
