For those of you unfamiliar with John C. Jay, he's the creative director for Weiden+Kennedy - probably one of the most high profile advertising agency's in all the land. Anyways he's a very interesting character who is always working on very interesting projects or interviewing people or being interviewed. He made a recent post on his Honeyee blog about the current state of affairs and it's relevance to the design/retail community. It basically summed up a lot of the things I've been talking about with friends, colleagues and readers of h(y)r. I really believe that in this relatively dark time, there is an incredible amount of potential to grow for some of the truly passionate, creative and low investment businesses. As he mentions, there is a new era of young creative thinkers developing retail, design, fashion and technology in ways that haven't been touched before. It won't be easy to succeed by any means, but if you want that c.r.e.a.m bad enough, now is your chance to rise to the top.
