Words

This spring Mister Freedom drew inspiration from "Les Apaches", for his collection based on the French street bandits of the early 19th Century. The 9.7oz Indigo Metisse fabric, a mixture of both cotton and unsanforised linen, give this coat a strong referenced look to the original design ideas of MFSC.

Mister Freedom x Sugar Cane Fall 2010

01

Images

—01. MF "CALIFORNIAN" Lot 54 Patches
—02. Mariniere Jersey layered with CPO shirts
—03. MFSC Fall '10

Words

Mister Freedom's upcoming collection with Tokyo's Sugar Cane sees the merger of the two concepts of the past. MFSC Fall '10 is a mix of the “Naval Clothing Tailor” and “Speed Safe Clothing” collections. With a few returning classics like the N1-H Deck jacket and Rider's Dungarees, the range also adds a few new styles. As usual, the most impressive aspect of the garments is the materials. Beautiful 10oz midnight indigo twill on the CPO, nice french terry henleys and 12oz deadstock selvedge denim on 5-pocket jeans. The collection might seem quite diverse stylistically but each individual piece is loaded with great detail and can be worn with any other for any number of great looks. Look for deliveries come September.

Mister Freedom Tripper Tote

01

Images

—01. An MF original pattern
—02. Each bag is lined with a different deadstock vintage fabric
—03. American 13.5oz selvedge denim

Words

I had my first trip to the beach this past weekend and suffice to say this Tripper tote from Mister Freedom would have been a much needed improvement over the recyclable Safeway shopping bag I ended up using. Made from deadstock, vintage American denim the bag has the perfect combination of characteristics in being nice and light yet sturdy and flexible. The great pocket configuration (one inner big enough to fit a macbook) means it's just as suitable for the sand as it is the classroom or cubicle too.
