Beams x Sugar Cane Bandanas

Sugar Cane and Beams have hooked up again, this time for a very simple, yet great looking item. Bandanas seem to be more popular than I thought these days as we can't keep the Real McCoy's or Beams Plus ones in stock. The colors and light weight cotton used for this batch are especially nice. They were made slightly bigger than usual so that you could use them around your neck more easily as well.

Mister Freedom's upcoming collection with Tokyo's Sugar Cane sees the merger of the two concepts of the past. MFSC Fall '10 is a mix of the “Naval Clothing Tailor” and “Speed Safe Clothing” collections. With a few returning classics like the N1-H Deck jacket and Rider's Dungarees, the range also adds a few new styles. As usual, the most impressive aspect of the garments is the materials. Beautiful 10oz midnight indigo twill on the CPO, nice french terry henleys and 12oz deadstock selvedge denim on 5-pocket jeans. The collection might seem quite diverse stylistically but each individual piece is loaded with great detail and can be worn with any other for any number of great looks. Look for deliveries come September.

Sugar Cane for Beams Work shirt

SUGAR CANE×BEAMS 1 Another collaboration and another chambray shirt and another good product available only in Japan - sound familiar? I thought the collaboration between Sugar Cane and Beams was a little surprising to come across as I had seen no sign of this product in Tokyo, or any sign of Sugar Cane in any of the Beams shops. The other interesting fact is that while it's a Beams only product, it's made in the USA and still retails for only about $110. It is a fairly stripped down basic shirt however. The chambray doesn't look particularly thick or special, but the simplicity of the classic pockets, white stitching and buttons make it the ideal piece. I also do like the little cluster of woven labels and stamps on the inside of the collar. Sure, you can't see that when it's on, but its the details like those that I often get excited for and will make me feel better in the shirt knowing they are there. — SUGAR CANE×BEAMS 2
