"Kiosk is a travel story depicted through objects, a collection of interesting things from around the world, a study of material culture, a shop, several people's efforts to preserve unique and indigenous objects, an installation, maybe just something other than what we are used to. Kiosk features the things that generally go unnoticed, products that are the result of local aesthetics and needs. Their motivation is to give attention to these anonymous objects and support independent producers. Neighbour and Kiosk have started an ongoing relationship where items sourced by Kiosk from their travels around the world, are now available at Neighbour."

Jennilee Marigomen's first book with French publisher Je Suis Une Bande De Jeunes was released earlier this month at the New York Art Book Fair. The perfect bound edition of 50 features images shot on a series of camping trips, shown here in colour, but printed in black and white for the JSBJ Blue Series. To celebrate its release, and on the occasion of Neighbour's official grand opening, there's a party at the Gastown store this evening between 7 and 11pm. If you aren't in Vancouver copies are also available at Dashwood Books in New York, Colette and Le Bal in Paris, and online via the JSBJ website.

Another nice scented candle option, this time made by Le Labo for Neighbour. Poured by hand in New York using soy wax, Santal 26 is an "aristocratic scent that gives off a gentle, smokey, and leathery fragrance."

We're proud to release our latest issue this Friday, April 29th at Neighbour in Vancouver. The Spring-Summer 2011 issue is filled with beautiful photography, great stories and again, 6+ months of hard work from our small team.
