Words

Openhouse is a new magazine rooted in the idea of private spaces functioning in some public way. Whether it be a studio, gallery or showroom, often in a house or apartment – or really any combination thereof. Its second issue features insightful glimpses into the Freunde von Freunden Apartment in Berlin and Philip Johnson’s Glass House in Connecticut, as well as several other cleanly and brightly photographed offices and homes that are utilized for intriguing purposes. With the magazine turning up in more shops, it's a publication to keep an eye out for.

Regular Inventory contributor Marcelo Gomes recently shot a series of photographs at the Glass House, Philip Johnson's iconic home in New Canaan, Connecticut. This beautiful and vibrant essay was shot to accompany an Illustrated Examples piece about the Harvard Five, a group of mid-century architects who lived and worked in the town, in the latest issue of Inventory magazine.
