This fall Gastown F.C. have worked with Reigning Champ again to launch a concise selection of quality pieces. The collection is more interesting and diverse than last fall, offering a water resistent jacket, sweatshirt, sweat shorts and a cotton hat. Everything is made in Vancouver by CYC and you can get a glimpse into the process through the feature on Post-New. The collection is now available in-store and online from Inventory and other select retailers.

Many of our local customers and friends are well aware of our locality, being apart of the Gastown community. Just over two years ago we started our own football club, rightly dubbed Gastown F.C. While our team has enjoyed some success so far in it's early career, one of our proud accomplishments has been working with Reigning Champ to make a small range of products. The first capsule includes simple items, that are all made in Vancouver with the expertise of the CYC factory and their great fabrics. Along with the collaboration pieces, we also gathered a handful of nice publications and accessories for the online team shop.

Heavy weight terry cloth, made in Canada, affordable and comfortable as can be. This spring Reigning Champ slimmed down their collection, but produced these great cut of sweat shorts. There have been a few versions this spring, but these more athletic inspired shorts are probably my favorites. I've been wearing them around for the last couple months and can't complain at all. The classic heather grey terry is the perfect color for these as well.

I'm going to have try one of these shirts on before I can say its too good, but the idea is interesting, the fabric choices are nice and we already known CYC make a very good product. Haven teamed up with Vancouver's Reigning Champ to make these raglan sleeve BD shirts in a handful of fabrics. The design looks clean enough, the selvedge lines look great, triple track stitching looks tough, but again, needs to be tried on I think.

Sunday feels like the right day to be posting something like this. When it gets cool, it's just nice to have a couple of layers around to throw on whether you're at home, at the office or just running around town. Reigning Champ provides quality garments that are as comfortable as they come and with tones like this oatmeal, its tough to lose. There's a good chance I'll pick up one of these in the near future.

CYC Sample Sale

If you're in Vancouver it might be worth your while to drop by the CYC sample sale which is going on now. Owen and I rolled through pretty early yesterday to find a lot of nice soft goods for incredibly good prices. Whether you're looking for holiday gifts, something for yourself or even to see some of the interesting samples that never made it out of the CYC factory – it's worth checking. Of course the fleece was highly sought after and available, but there were some good shirts, denim and accessories from Huf, Alife, Reigning Champ and Wings+Horns. We managed to wrangle out a couple pairs of pants that were hiding in the corner which made the trip more than worth while. The CYC crew will be unboxing goods each day and throughout the day so it's uncertain what you might come across if your timing is good. — CYC Design 188 W. 6th Ave. 2nd Floor Vancouver, BC Saturday & Sunday 12pm - 6pm

Reigning Champ SS '09

Reigning Champ isn't exactly the most exciting clothing line. Being a line of basics, it's by no means progressive, cutting edge fashion. I'm OK with that though, and am always interested to see what they're up to at CYC. This spring isn't too different but it's as strong as usual. My favourite piece from the collection though is the coach/utility jacket. Button front, two pockets, perfect collar. It's a super clean, classic light coat that you can wear with anything and in any season. The iconic fleece is also accompanied with some styles that are new to RC. Although I'm not too much of a polo wearer myself, I'm liking their take on the shirt and the gradient coloured tank tops will become a necessary summer item I suspect.
