Vault by Vans for Engineered Garments

Words

Yesterday marked the release of Engineered Garments' collaboration with Vault by Vans. The New York based brand made two different models, the OG Authentic LX and the OG Slip-On LX, each taking on their own aesthetic. The capsule collection is likely to sell quickly, as the shoes are well-priced, very wearable and represent the first collaboration between the two brands.

There are a handful of brands doing great versions of Vans slip-ons this fall. These mismatched Harris Tweed shoes were made for Beauty & Youth in Japan, and are among my favourites.

Wtaps Vans Vault Fall '13 Collection

—01. Made in USA?

Words

A preview of the latest Wtaps collaboration with Vans from the pages of Grind magazine. The colours, materials, and models all appear to be well-chosen, but the most exciting thing about this release is that the shoes are rumoured to be made in the US. If that's true, and all of the old details are in place, it's a huge development that will make a lot of people very happy indeed.

The Homme collection by Comme des Garçons is still one of the more difficult to track down. This spring they've collaborated with Vans on a simple, but nice looking pair of Eras.

Want: Converse Addict Low

—01. Simple colorway, goes with everything and will last.

Words

The white canvas sneaker is and has always been a fairly important item to have on a day to day basis, especially during the summer. I like it with chinos, denim and shorts so pretty much all the bases are covered. Lately my Vans have taken a fair beating and I have been looking for something to step in and shoulder some of the weight. Converse is an obvious choice but I've never really worn All Stars and have been wanting something slightly different. I've heard good reviews of the Converse Addict range that released in Japan last year and have been trolling eBay and Yahoo auctions lately for the low cut white canvas version. The Vibram sole, extra cushioning and slightly higher rand definitely have me close to pulling the trigger.
