Tricker's Scotch Grain for Norse

01

Info

—01. Especially made for Norse.

Words

Lately I've been really into chunky scotch grain brogues. I have a pair on order I am anxiously awaiting, but in the meantime I have been looking at a few different brand's versions. This classic brogue made for Norse by Tricker's comes in all black, with the Dainite sole.

Mark McNairy for Norse Projects Wingtip Brogue

01

Images

—01. British Millerain and pebbled leather upper.

Words

These brogues by Mark McNairy for Norse Projects are the kind of shoes that often go unnoticed. The upper features a combination of pebble grain leather and British Millerain fabric while the Ridgeway sole adds considerable practicality. The result is a subtle mix of tone and texture with a distinct military feel – a measured collaboration that deserves a lot more attention than it's likely to recieve.

The Hideout + Norse Projects + Barbarian

Words

Barbarian is another company that has its roots in North American history, specifically Canadian history, yet has thrived in Japan in recent years. As a tougher alternative to a Breton top, the rugby shirts offer a shirt/jacket/sweater option that can be quite diverse and look great. We haven't seen the brand reach out beyond the East, except for on rugby pitches, but Norse Projects and The Hideout have done a great job putting together a couple of spring shirts. The colours, white collars and long and short sleeve options are nicely done.
