Words

I'd been a little on the fence about this shoe brand, not being overly familiar or taken with the designs until now. I like the reference and the idea behind the brand, but it's always seemed to me: if you want Clarks, buy Clarks. Having said that, I can appreciate the details, changes, and improvements the brand has made to a handful of classic designs; with the small burst of colour on the Ruddy Duck model recently received at Silver & Gold being one such appealing tweak.

Available at Silver and Gold

Clarks don't make their shoes to a good enough standard these days.

Dont really like these-too much detail. There is a better, plainer pair available from Oipolloi. The thinking behind them is good---an attempt to re-create the perfect pair of Wallabees. But frankly the end result is ever so slightly cheap looking----------i know ive said this before!!!.Compare these with certain styles from Viberg ,say ,or a Japanese maker---Moto---or the Black Bear Grizzly boots from a guy called Cruz in Spokane---seen on Arch-Heritage .com.So i'm dissappearing up a certain orrifice in my persuit of perfection????-----i just think ive got Damn fine taste!!

Trust me mate Verginia & Weaver Moccasin blow Clarks out the water when it comes down to quality & comfort.

It ain't like we're talking WuWear Wallies here is it?

Word----Dont know what Wuwear is, and the quality and comfort of Weaver may be fine----its what any shoe LOOKS like that concerns me.

I don't think these look cheap at all - they're immaculate! Every stitch is perfect. Weavers are amazingly well made and are good value too. Better than Quoddy in my opinion, whose quality control seems all over the place these days. I have a pair of these and love them:

Comparing weaver to Viberg or moto is comparing oranges and apples.

Viberg is a work boot company, moto are leather craftsmen who happen to have a few shoes in their range.

Did say CERTAIN styles Sorrybut.

Sorry but that doesn't make your comparison more relevant. Pricepoint and products of weaver and the companies you mentioned truly are oranges and apples

I've got two pairs of the Weavers now and numerous of the Clarks. Initially I loved the the extra detail in the Weavers and what does appear to be better construction but have now slipped back to the Clarks Weavers , Wallabies , Deserts and Nature . Did find the leather uooers slightly unforgiving in the Weavers and the crepe soles are considerably harder, less comfortable than the oricinals, no pun intended.
