Words

Nike's latest Gyakusou collection was released yesterday. The sub-brand has weathered some of the initial trend driven hype and seems to have found its footing within the running landscape, offering highly functional, great looking pieces. This collection is one of the strongest yet; there's a great mix of colour and tonal fabrics, and the footwear has evolved nicely as well.

Past collections may have been overhyped, but this collection deserves no hype. The shoe on the left looks like the baseline model for Nike id - no color. The other lunar spider colorway is near identical to one of the pairs from last spring. The two lunar glides are equally uninteresting. And, the clothing is off. The colors make no sense for fall. Too bright. No patterns. No texture. Really? White, gray and black caps with a big logo is supposed to get me excited? Sorry to rant, but I was looking forward to getting some more good gear to run in.
