Words

Our winter shipment from Inverallan has arrived. This season we've made a cable knit cardigan and moss knit hat using black 'denim' and indigo dyed cotton. Each piece is handmade in Scotland and is exclusively available through the Stockroom and, from January, our concessions at Dover Street Market in both London and Ginza.

Look: Klassik Springston

01

Words

One of my favorite times of the year is when you can mix garments from different seasons. A nice bit of blue, tan and olive always works well together. Cross over pieces from Post Overalls and Inverallan are still perfect in early spring, while denim and chambray from orSlow work seamlessly together. Sturdy footwear is a necessity all year around, so anytime is good for a pair of C-shade Tricker's.

Inverallan for Inventory Items Bubble Knit Caps

Info

Words

It's the first time we've received our Inverallan order at the beginning of the season, and we're also excited that this is our best delivery from the Scottish knitters we've ever received. Along with a pair of beautiful shawl collar cardigans, we've produced a new style of the knit cap. It's called the 'Moss' cap and with a nice bubble knit pattern, the hats are a bit less bulky and a little bit more shallow than last fall. They turned out really great, the only problem is choosing which color to get.

Words

Unfortunately this year saw Inverallan scale back their business to existing retailers, mainly in Japan. However, we are excited to continue our relationship with the experienced hand knitters. Currently in the depths of the Scottish winter, our cardigans are trapped by snow. Luckily this season's cable knit caps made it out before the change in weather. They're available in five colours - red, loden, oatmeal, grey and blue - and are a great way to keep warm, look sharp and add some nice colour and texture to an outfit.

Our first collaboration with Inverallan last winter went really well, so it was an easy decision to keep things going again this season. The wait has been a long one, but the first shipment will be available by next weekend. The cable knit caps will be available first, with our new cardigan arriving shortly thereafter. The hats will be coming in five colours this fall - red, grey, oatmeal, olive and blue.

LOOK | Weekend Wears

Look - Weekend WearsWe've had some great weather in Vancouver this week. The sun has peaked out again for the most part and the temperature has been quite pleasant. It's made for a little break from rain coats and umbrellas and it's nice to not worry about what shoes to wear. Saturday was particularly nice as Owen and I rolled around town to a couple vintage furniture shops, checked out the soon-to-open Haven shop and of course spent some time packing magazines. Staying warm and comfortable are usually wardrobe requirements, but even more so on the weekend, so it was turtleneck time for me. I've had the most luck with the high necked knit when layering it over a flannel and letting the collar poke out the top and bottom for a nice bit of pattern and texture. I've been wearing the Workaday cords most days of the week in one colour or another, so that isn't much of a surprise. Since the sun has been missing there has been no time for no socks, but today was just warm enough to slip the peanut grizzly Quoddy's back on, and how good they feel. The red Inverallan cap was thrown on when the sun dipped below the horizon and there you have a handful of clothes I wore on a Saturday.

Inverallan for Inventory Items

Inverallan for Inventory One of our much awaited and slightly delayed has finally been released online after our initial launch this weekend at Roden Gray. Needless to say the demand via email pre-orders made short work of the red knit caps. However, the cardigan is really the focus of this collaboration and one that we are very excited about. It's been made by hand in the area of Clackmannanshire, Scotland. Each cardigan takes approximately 90 hours to knit and they are all done by craftsmen in their own homes. Each sweater and cap is signed by the person who made it which gives the unique knitwear an extra special touch. We had the cardigan made up in our favorite colour of the season – navy blue. It goes with so many things and the colour lends itself to the timeless style of the piece. It's quite heavy due to the heavy gauge of the wool and can easily double as a jacket in the fall and spring. This is definitely a piece that will be with you for several years to come. We're happy to present our first season in collaboration with Inverallan. — Available in the Inventory Stockroom, Cardigan $350 & Knit Cap $80

INVENTORY Launch Party

Inventory Flyer party1The magazines are out of the boxes, the smell of glue is in the air and it's time to celebrate – at least a little. It was definitely an undertaking putting together a 140 page magazine in only a few months, along with a new website, a brand and a series of collaborations. We're extremely excited about the launch of our first printed issue, so to celebrate we're having a 3-day shop-in-shop that kicks off with a party at Roden Gray on Friday, November 27. We'll have a lot of magazines for sale for the first time in the flesh, while copies begin to land around the world in select retailers. We'll also be taking over the corner of the store with a selection of our fall Inventory Items, featuring Mark McNairy Bucks, Alexander Olch Ties, Duluth Utility Packs and the launch of our first collaboration with Inverallan – including the cardigans and caps. It would be great to see and meet any of our readers and supporters that can make it out. There will be free drinks and as many magazines as you can buy. We'll be taking over Roden Gray around noon and hanging out for the day until the party kicks off around 6pm. We'd just like to say thank you again to anybody and everyone who has encouraged us to keep moving forward and supported us in anyway.
