Our Legacy Bomber Sweater

our leg knit Our Legacy has a great knack for finding wools that I'm in love with, ones with a bit of speckle in them for extra character. This round neck sweater is a perfect example. The flecks of beige and light brown give the piece a great textured feel and offers a nice depth when worn in an outfit. An off white or natural crew neck is hard enough to find as it is too so this colour is even more appealing. The nice medium weight of the knit means it can be worn in all four seasons and the cut isn't slim nor baggy but just right. It can be worn on it's own but I find that the ever so oversized neckhole lends itself better for a collared shirt of some sort, I'm thinking a red or even burnt orange oxford. Either way, I think I could probably find a way to wear it three or four times a week which can't be a bad thing. ourlegacy1

Our Legacy Japanese Bombed Blazer

OurLegacyCamelBlazer This blazer from is one of the best I've seen this autumn when it comes to a good in-between jacket. When I say in-between, I mean something thats heavy enough as an outer when it's crisp but not cold, but thin enough as a middle layer if need be. For me right now a jacket like that has got to be wool. The texture and durability is equally as functional as it is good looking and if it's flecked, speckled, freckled, specked or whatever else you might want to call it, I'm liking it even better. Grey is usual shade of choice from most brands but Our Legacy's camel version is looking fantastic to me. The blend of  khakis, browns and whites makes for a perfect colour. The classic 2-button front is a good cut with a nicely shaped lapel, single chest pocket and darting. Their jackets always have a great relaxed tailored fit that's easy to wear too. It even looks good over just a tee on everyone's favourite moustached model Emil at Tres Bien.   OurLegacyCamelBlazer1

Our Legacy Fall Footwear

our-legacy-fall-footwear-01Our Legacy continue with their fall deliveries at Tres Bien with this seasons footwear offering. I'm not about to tell that these are up to the quality of a Alden or Tricker's shoe, but I do believe they are very well designed and for a lower price, you can definitely accomplish a great look. I don't mean to sound like I'm slagging the quality, as Our Legacy's shoes are still made quite well and are worth the price in my opinion when it comes to their dress shoes. They do however excel when it comes to the aesthetic. Their sensibility in design is so comforting and easy to wear. This fall's shoes include a long wing, cap toe and a worker boot. All of which look quite sharp but I believe my pick of the litter would be the black long wings. Check a shot of all of the models after the link and Tres Bien to purchase. our-legacy-fall-footwear-02

Our Legacy Double breasted Blazer

our-legacy-double-breasted-blazerThe double breasted blazer is a hard piece to work into your wardrobe. It's general history and essence is that of a formal nature and traditionally cut in a way I am not too fond of. The evolution of men's style and designers however are bringing us a couple versions that are much more appealing and wearable. Probably none better than Our Legacy's double breasted blazer, it checks all of the boxes with it's casual cotton body, nicely sized and placed pockets, an exterior chest pocket, perfect buttons and most importantly a beautifully cut lapel. The jacket comes in black for the fall and I believe will become a staple in the Our Legacy collection. Taking inspiration from a vintage YSL piece, Our Legacy have really done well in creating a truly casual and wearable double breasted blazer.

Our Legacy Sneakers

our-legacy-sneakersAs we've mentioned already, Our Legacy seems intent on expanding their collection to cover the majority of men's products. I think they are one of the only new labels doing it well in terms of capturing an aesthetic of a lifestyle. Whether they are just trying to make as much money as they can, or just feel they've always wanted to make these items, so why not do it now - the look of their products is always right on the mark. While it might be hard to actually improve on the deck shoe after Vans, Sperry, Visvim and Aprix have offered a great range of clean versions. I would have to say these are probably the exact colors I would have made the shoe in, and the dark stripe around the midsole is a perfect classic touch. I thought the shoes looked good in person, but for a sneaker I think you really need to wear them around to determine their qualty. Now available at Tres Bien for $98

Our Legacy FW Footwear

our-legacy-fall-shoesOur Legacy have stepped firmly into the footwear realm this spring with some great looking suede oxfords and wingtips. While there is no denying the look and style of the shoes online, I had to be slightly skeptical on how well made the shoes were, as they retail for a pretty good price and most footwear this style is best done by traditional bands. The shoes are made in Portugal and I had a nice look at the these fall models at Capsule LV this week. The leather uppers felt really nice on both shoes, and they even felt really good on my foot. I am a 42 in Common Projects and these fit me in a 43 for those of you looking for a size reference. The bottom of the sole seemed quite slick, and unlike the more subtle leather sole which normally would need to be brought to the cobbler. I'm not sure if they have finished the bottom with something more durable, or if it's the slightly cheaper materials put together in Portugal. I wasn't blown away by the quality, but I was far from disappointed. I think the shoes look and feel great, so for the price they are a great option. There is also going to be a boot for the fall, but we'll have to wait to see that one.

Our Legacy / Tres Bien Re-Launch

our-legacy-tbWell, Our Legacy is officially all of the daily blog right now, but I have no problem with it. The more I see, the more I like. Although its not the full collection, a lot of great pieces are now available on Tres Bien Shop's new website which launched today. The shop was awarded retailer of the year by us here at h(y)r collective in 2008, and it seems they are on pace to continue their path. They have added Martin Margiela, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Dries Van Noten and Head Porter Plus to the list this spring, among a few others. I feel it's safe to say they carry the closest to my dream stock list as any store in the world. The new store is nice, easy to navigate and surely will be filled up with a lot more great spring pieces for you to spend your money on, I am pretty sure I will be. Remember that lovely VAT for us non EU members as well, 25% the listed retail price at checkout. Our Legacy's suede oxfords and wingtips with natural leather sole are also stand out items, as I have been searching for something just like it lately, great job. our-legacy-ss-2 our-legacy-ss-3

Our Legacy Leather Accessories

ol-accessoryss091Our Legacy are giving us a peak at what is coming shortly in their spring collection. With the addition of footwear and the extension of their accessories, the collection is growing into more of a complete lifestyle. The leather duffle, briefcase and woven belt are looking great. The color of the leather is perfect for the spring/summer months and would compliment those washed out denim pants nicely. Our Legacy's prices are quite fair coming from Sweden, where Tres Bien is able to showcase the entire selection. That is definitely rare to find, especially online, so we can look forward to the re-launch of the new Tres Bien Shop website in the next couple of days, likely filled to the brim with Our Legacy goodies.
