Words
While it's been the plain navy, grey and black McCoy's sweatshirts that have been very popular lately, this slightly heavier and slightly tougher 12 oz. loopwheeled sweat is one of our favorites in the store right now. There are a million printed sweat shirts out there to choose from, but The Real McCoy's again deliver not only the best fleece in terms of cut and construction, but also in terms of well executed prints. The nice shade of green and simple graphics make it easy to wear and great to feel.

Bringing back the ‘In my Bag’ post once more, we recently shot some articles for our spring issue and each of us took photos of our ‘bags’. Some things are in there every day and somethings aren’t, but most of them are mine and get used regularly. The whole concept of the bag posts was to offer insight into people’s personal tastes and how the things they find important or at least aesthetically pleasing. There probably aren’t many surprises in my bag other than maybe my passport holder and the lack of something by Engineered Garments, but each thing serves its purpose and looks fairly nice, especially those Papermate pens.

One of our most exciting additions to the Inventory Stockroom this spring is The Real McCoy’s. Arguably the best reproduction brand in the world, McCoy’s offers a diverse range of products through The Real McCoy’s, Joe McCoy’s, Buco and the other licences the company now holds. Producing iconic American garments is the end product, but the brand itself is very special and there is a lot of love, research and history involved in creating each piece. The brand was fortunate enough to let us dig into their archives for some of our favorite pieces before they are gone forever. As well we picked up a few of the season’s staples and are happy to offer some of the best knits, accessories, work shirts and chinos the market has to offer. We often describe the McCoy’s has being “bomb proof” due to its incredible make and quality. The choice of fabrics and construction are some of the best we’ve ever seen. We’ve included a few images of the items that we picked for the spring season, all of which are now available online.

It’s been a very compact and exciting spring so far this year as we have new developments in all aspects of Inventory, but our main focus has been the production of our second issue of the magazine. Finally our Spring–Summer 2010 issue is going to the printers and we are excited to present the two covers for the upcoming offering. We feel the new issue not only met the standard of our initial launch but perhaps exceeded it with a more diverse range of content, some great new contributors and an additional 30 pages. Featured in our spring issue are Margaret Howell, The Real McCoy’s, Beams, White Mountaineering, Our Legacy, Wm. J. Mills & Co., Unis, New Balance and several other fascinating people, brands and stories. The issue will be available to pre-order through the Inventory Stockroom next week and will be shipping and hitting shelves in early/mid-May.
The Real McCoys White Hat Tee

Sometimes finding a great t-shirt can be just as satisfying as a great oxford or chambray. This is more often the case if you find a vintage Champion fleece or something loop wheeled in Japan. There is a certain feeling and toughness about the Japanese made fleece that isn't the same here, and The Real McCoys is one of the best examples of this. Lately I've been more into illustration on t-shirts as well and I've got a ton of wear out of the Warehouse shirt I picked up at the Rugged Museum. 'The White Hat Club' looks like something I wouldn't mind joining either as I really like the white on navy. It's simple, tasteful and could easily be worn on it's own or to layer under a shirt in this cold weather. An extra layer of soft, sturdy fleece is always good to have near by.

Since I'm spending most of my hours in front of a computer this week, and for the rest of the year, it's always good to be cozy and comfortable for the long days. For some people that might mean bring out the sweats, but I'm probably more comfortable in a great pair of chinos and a chambray. If I'm not going to wear a jacket and opt for a nice piece of knitwear for my exterior layer, I might wear two shirts underneath to stay warm, and to add a nice contrast in materials. The tab collar shirt by EG is high on my list right now and the Woolen Mills Cruiser shirt is a recognized winner. The Blue Seal chinos by The Real McCoys are a recent acquisition and definitely feel like they can stand through a winter or two – incredible quality, made in Japan. Red Wing oxfords, Inverallan cap and SNS Herning cardigan all seem to make sense to me as well. It's not overly excited, forward thinking or mind blowing, but its comfortable and looks great.

The Real McCoy's The Real McCoy's Indigo Tote

This bag has actually shown up in a couple of our posts in the past when putting together outfits, however it has missed it's chance to stand alone. I'm not one to be over the top with my denim but when it's used well, there is no denying it's appeal beyond pants and shirts. This indigo tote bag is one of the nicest I've seen and only costs £30 – which seems about right. It's great for a evening haul from the local grocery or packing a laptop, magazine and spare shirt for the day. The dark indigo is complimented perfectly by the white straps and sharp McCoy's label. I think it looks particularly nice with a light coloured pant, brown leather footwear and a wool top, perhaps with some red, if I can go so far. Our London director has this bag and I considered trying to swipe while at his place last time, but I figured he might notice and knows where to find me.
