Time and time again, sunglasses made by the UK-based eyewear company Cutler and Gross have me debating whether or not I need an upgrade. While the answer is logically no, the incredibly classic styles always cause me to wrestle with my more impetuous side. I'm especially drawn to this D-Frame model: Italian-made, distinctive, and sure to stand the test of time.

My love of pullover shirting and military wear has elicited numerous recommendations of the classic two-pocket army shirt over the years. I’m sure most were advocating the iconic denim fabric work shirt, but Post Overalls always makes one of the best iterations for summer. I can’t help debating between an original and the Army Shirt-R every season, but this rich, indigo-dyed cotton sheeting version might see me choosing the latter.

This season Comme des Garçons Homme have taken the classic All-Star silhouette and dyed the entire shoe in a selection of different colours. The black version looks best in my opinion, but it's an easy to wear summer sneaker no matter which option you prefer.

Peter Sutherland, everyone's favourite contemporary New York historian, has once again teamed up with everyone's favourite group of art alchemists to bring you 70s 80s 90s 00s, an exhibition at Still House's Red Hook residency gallery. It's been a few years since I've seen his work in person but it appears to be Sutherland's largest show to date. He seems to have put the space to work beautifully, as he continues his recent run of documenting the strange contrasts that exist within and between extreme sports cultures, urban living and the great outdoors; most likely from a viewpoint you've not before experienced.

Porter Classic is renowned the world over for making some very serious clothing, and the pieces themselves are remarkable to behold in person. This jacket looks especially interesting, as a seemingly straightforward climbing fleece has been reworked to reflect the heavy-duty fighting outfits worn for Kendo, the Japanese martial arts practice.

The naive design sense of this Will Boone book, published by Karma, immediately caught my attention when I first saw it. The description states: “Prison Rodeo catalogues reference photographs used in Boone’s practice over the last several years. From heavy metal to Elvis to the American South, the artist’s influences are displayed as side by side colour images in diverging order.” This volume offers an insightful look into a world of inspiration that wouldn't generally be presented as a single work of art.

Longtime Inventory contributor James Pearson-Howes makes his directorial debut, alongside Tim Spicer, with this short film on speedway racing in the UK. In spite of its past popularity, it is often seen as a working-class activity nowadays. The piece follows Lewis Bridger as he travels from his home to the track, giving us a glimpse into the lifestyle and culture surrounding a somewhat forgotten motorsport.
