Heller's Cafe Knit Football Jersey

Words

The Heller's Cafe collection has continued to impress and this spring includes some really nice pieces. Although they look simple at first, its the quality and small details, along with the fabric choice and top notch production by Warehouse that really set them apart. I think it takes handling a product like this to really get a good sense of its value. This football shirt is one of the few pieces I've yet to see in person, but I'm hoping to get a look soon.

Nike Match Classic

Words

Come spring time, you definitely need a couple pairs of trainers to beat up for a few months. A nice white or off-white canvas or suede is usually the best looking and these Nike Match Classics definitely fit the bill. Subtle branding on a classic model, good color choice and a nice silhouette - pretty much perfect.

Yuketen Spring Collection

01

Words

A couple times during the year we get a delivery of some of the best shoes in the world. These three styles are just tough to top and I think it's safe to say we're fans of the crepe sole and the beautiful hand-sewn moccasin construction. Each shoe offers a little something different, but all four are best in class. I am personally having a very difficult debate between the Country Loafer and the Sport Chukka.

Words

Our second delivery from Engineered Garments just arrived and it had some great accessories inside. The shipment also included an olive ripstop Cruiser, broadcloth Classic shirts and a short sleeve camp shirt - but the floral bow ties and pocket squares are looking especially good. The bow ties are hand made in New York and feature some of the collection's finest fabrics.

New Mexico, Part Two

Words

As promised, here is the second batch of images from my recent trip to New Mexico. These ones have a bit more of a look at some of the weaving shops we went to, as well as one of the most amazing general stores in all of New Mexico. Although some of these shots aren't too bad, I just saw some of the film shot by Nicholas Haggard and really can't wait to see it printed in the upcoming issue of Inventory - due out in April.

Mr. Bathing Ape Footwear

Words

With all of the news surrounding the Bathing Ape/Nowhere brand, the company is still rolling out some quality product and the development of the Mr. Bathing Ape collection is a definite highlight. Present are the first shop outside of Japan to get their hands on the brand. The first delivery includes the footwear, classically styled, but with an Ape's sense of humor. I personally quite like the subtle touches and would be happy to sport the wingtips especially.

Our Legacy, Observations

—01. Spring-Summer 2011, Observations.

Words

The collections from Our Legacy continue to improve in pretty much every aspect each season. The fabric choices, the cuts, the fabric washes, etc, it goes on. The brand has developed great core pieces like their 40s BD shirt, the 'great' sweatshirt and their chinos - they've all become standard staples. This spring, I feel like the collection is as solid as ever, but their seasonal 'look book' is really what caught my eye. I think the tones and washed out whites combined with the rich blues and greens look especially great. They always do a fine job getting me excited about their brand.
