People definitely seem to be coming around on the rollneck sweater again this season. Whether it's from Nigel Cabourn, SNS Herning or relative newcomers to knitwear, it feels like the classic style is having a small revival. Albam have made their version in grey marl, charcoal and red. The fit is casual, the wool is warm and the price is very reasonable.

The classic is back. The Ice Bag has been hard to keep in stock, but we finally got a few more made up - this time with a natural cotton webbing. The fabric is a bit tougher and has a nice almost flecked/off-white tone to it. The heavy canvas is sturdy, durable, useful and looks great; new and battered. The tan color is a new one for us as we thought it worked a little better for the fall season. All three colors are now available online and in-store.

I've been hunting around for a bit more vintage lately - of course, when it's 1am, that means I'm on eBay. I just came across this old North Face top and got pretty excited. Not only is the pattern on the fleece body nice and rascal, but the neck cinch is an interesting detail. The zip pocket on the back is also a great functional piece of design. It might be a difficult item to mix into your daily wardrobe but I can see menswear designers incorporating more climbing and hiking details into things in seasons to come. There is definitely potential for some interesting designs combining these old-style features with today's tailoring and technology.

While some are simple, the two brands have definitely put their mark on them in a subtle and effective way. The Levi's jacket with leather sleeves is an obvious stand out and will probably be a quick piece to go - perhaps our Gastown neighbors will give us a sneak peak.

I have a bag problem, and I have addmitted it before. I just love the use of different fabrics, and the simplicity and functionality of tote bags especially. Recently I snagged one of these small Post Overalls tote bags in New York when we met with Takeshi and Katsu. The fabrics are tough but have a light, all season feeling to them. The olive webbing is a nice touch. The size isn't my favorite, but I really like the styling and finishing.

Junya Watanabe Duck/Hide Jacket

Junya Watanabe MAN has started hitting non-CDG retailers and has become notably more visible this season. End has received their order and have just put this work wear styled jacket online. Some might think that Junya takes the reference too far and makes it unwearable, but in this case I think it's been reeled in just enough. The colors of the cotton canvas, flannel and leather combine to create an amazing autumnal palette. The fabrics work together nicely and I think the end result is a pretty fine garment.

In the last year we've worked on a handful of collaborations that have all been interesting and exciting, but one of the companies we've really come to love and respect is Yuketen. It's been great to work with Yuki and Ryan, and also get to know them on a personal level, so creating a custom shoe together has been an incredible honor. Yuketen don't sell their products to many retailers, let alone do collaborative projects, so it's a very special one for us. Playing with one of their classic models, the Maine Guide Boot, we decided to bring back its unknown and basically unseen shorter brother, the Maine Guide Shoe. Using a waterproof leather, adjusting the height and taking off the heel loop, we came up with our perfect fall moccasin. They're sturdy and tough, but the leather is soft and functional. They are one of the best shoes I've ever owned and I couldn't be more excited about how they came out - thanks to Yuki, Ryan and the whole Meg Company team.

The canoe pack has definitely become more popular again thanks to companies like Duluth and Frost River continuing to produce their classics, and modern brands recognising the authenticity and functionality of their designs. This fall Heller's Cafe have produced a beautiful rendition that's been made in Japan by Warehouse. The bag is made from a selvedge canvas and features some top quality leather accents and metal hardware.
