It's a big weekend in New York for art and design. Frieze, the influential art fair, takes place on Randall's Island, while across town, not far from the banks of the Hudson River, the Jacob Javits Center hosts the ICFF – one of New York's premier contemporary design shows. Among the many exhibitors and booths, you can find new work by longtime friend of Inventory, and Issue 10 cover subject, Dean Edmonds. The London-based designer will be showcasing a new lamp design, in two colourways, as part of a group of offerings from Atelier de Troupe – a lighting and furniture studio based in Los Angeles. Details reagrding the show can be found to the left, while a little more about each element can be learned from the links below.

Dean Edmonds Stacking Stool

A new, sleek addition to the Bermuda Trips website, these stacking stools from Dean Edmonds offer a simple, and let's face it, elegant solution to those of us who are short a few chairs, or have more friends coming over than we can comfortably handle. As a quite unlikable person, this isn't something I have a problem with myself, but I'm sure plenty of others out there actually socialize now and again. With an abundance of naturally coloured, teak-centric pieces seemingly in every house, flat or apartment you visit, these all black stools certainly appeal.

Berlin-based Freunde von Freunden dispatched writer Amelia Phillips and photographer Tina Hillier to visit our very own Fashion Director, Stephen Mann, for one of the website's latest features. Highlighting a variety of Vitsoe product alongside his collection of books and art, the article also provides a look at some of Dean Edmonds' work within Stephen's recently renovated Tottenham home.

Dean Edmonds at J. Glinert & Momosan Shop

Dean Edmonds will be presenting a series of new pieces in an exhibition set to celebrate the opening of the new Momosan Shop on Wilton Way. With a private viewing on October 30th, the works in the show are split between two locations – J. Glinert and their new neighbours – and offer an experiment in steel and a homage to the string chair. Dean himself says that "using an all steel construction the string has become a structural element in turn reducing the structure itself." While the work may appear somewhat brutal on first viewing, Dean's aim is for the structure to "show the beauty and fragility that steel can possess much like the string of the chair that was at first the inspiration." The exhibition will be a great opportunity to view the London-based designer's work in the flesh, while the new Momosan Shop will offer a range of homewares, design objects, printed matter and accessories.

To coincide with the release of our latest issue, featuring a cover story on Dean Edmonds, we asked the emerging English designer to create a small selection of products for us. Available from our pop-up shop at Nepenthes New York, four items have been produced in a mix of raw and clear coated steel: a lamp, a bookend, an incense holder and assorted candlesticks. Follow the link below for additional imagery of each piece, as well as other examples of Dean's work.
