We've been working on this collaboration for quite some time now and it's just about ready. It's a scented candle - our first non-wearable Inventory Item - and we're really pleased with the end product. We worked closely with Frederick Bouchardy at Joya in New York and thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. The scent, Fig, Sunwashed Oak & Amber, is quite intricate, but the smell is warm and subtle, filling the room nicely without being overpowering. The candles have been poured; we're just adding the finishing touches, but they'll be available in the next week or so, priced at $45.

In the last year we've worked on a handful of collaborations that have all been interesting and exciting, but one of the companies we've really come to love and respect is Yuketen. It's been great to work with Yuki and Ryan, and also get to know them on a personal level, so creating a custom shoe together has been an incredible honor. Yuketen don't sell their products to many retailers, let alone do collaborative projects, so it's a very special one for us. Playing with one of their classic models, the Maine Guide Boot, we decided to bring back its unknown and basically unseen shorter brother, the Maine Guide Shoe. Using a waterproof leather, adjusting the height and taking off the heel loop, we came up with our perfect fall moccasin. They're sturdy and tough, but the leather is soft and functional. They are one of the best shoes I've ever owned and I couldn't be more excited about how they came out - thanks to Yuki, Ryan and the whole Meg Company team.

With the heat of summer in full effect around the world, even in Vancouver, a lot of people are on the hunt for the perfect lightweight summer shirt. With that in mind, we've just updated the Stockroom with the striped version of our latest collaboration with Gitman Bros. The navy and grey options are classic and subtle, very soft, and the lightweight Japanese organic cotton is perfect for this time of year. The blue gingham shirts have been flying off the shelves so I wouldn't expect the stripes to be around for long either.

Our collaborative products with Gitman Bros. continue this summer with a range of organic Japanese cotton button down shirts. Gitman have found a couple of new suppliers and we were able to dig through the fabric swatches to pick out some of our favorites. The shirts are incredibly soft and the perfect weight for summer, but work well all year round because of the subtle colours and patterns we chose. The navy, light blue and grey are all easy to wear and pair up well with chinos, denim or shorts. They all have our signature touches and a nice straight, slim fit.

The light blue and navy gingham are currently available online; the striped versions will be added shortly. All four options are in-store now.

Once again the weather has been teasing us in Vancouver with some of the warmest days of the year. I actually thought about wearing shorts yesterday, so I am today – at least in this post. Along with the warm weather you need to stay refreshed with fluids and since the bottle of water didn’t go over too well last time, I’ve opted for a new Inventory favorite. As well, we have a couple of new items in, and coming into the Inventory Stockroom, including these great looking peanut grizzly canoe moccasins by Quoddy and our recent Inventory Tattersall BDs by Gitman.

Our collaborations with Gitman Bros. continue this spring with a great set of tattersall BD shirts. While the American shirt makers are knee deep in madras, gingham, seersucker and plaids – we decided to go a slightly different route with our transitional spring shirts. The tattersall patterns often come on a lighter weight broadcloth or singly ply cotton, but we beefed them up to a heavier 2-ply oxford cloth as the weather isn’t quite warm enough yet. The shirts offer a nice subtle pattern which can be easily paired up and layered, but has enough detail to look a little nicer than just a plain colored oxford. The shirts feature our signature Gitman details; red stitching on the neck button hole, gusset sides, Inventory Items labels and of course are made in limited quantities.
