There's something appealing about occasionally treating yourself to a more luxury version of a classic wardrobe staple. This navy blue hooded sweat from Margiela fits the criteria: easy to wear in a classic colour, a thoughtful and interesting design, and a fair old price tag to match.

Not unlike the grey John Smedley sweater we featured last week, this dark green wool sweater by Margiela is a great layering piece. The shade of green is particularly nice and the elbow patches are always a nice detail.

Again Margiela offers a fantastic range of knitwear, including some especially expensive and nice headwear. Their knit caps are definitely a few dollars more than your average, but they are rather nice, and I find they hold their shape really nicely over a few years of wear.

The knitwear from the Margiela collections is arguably the highlight each season, making fall one to look forward to. This fall, there are a number of fine looking items again.
