We did include rascal pants in our Illustrated Examples this spring, but shorts of the same sort can also be a nice touch. The pattern and colors of these Post Overalls Menpolini shorts are definitely a little flamboyant, but offer a nice injection of tone into a summer outfit. I’d definitely pair them up with something mellow however.

Post Overalls aren’t always a brand to explore with a lot of different patterns, but this spring they’ve done a very nice looking version of their classic waist coat in a calico royal blue. The pattern is interesting, but subtle enough to look great with chambray or a blue oxford cloth. It’s definitely one of my favorite items in the spring collection.

Post Overalls Sweetbear Cruzer Jacket

Post Overalls Sweetbear Cruzer Jacket1 Post Overalls have begun to gain a nice following and a larger stocklist in the last two seasons, at least outside of Japan where the brand is somewhat "new". Present in London seems to be one of the first shops to receive items from the spring collection although it's a small delivery. The Cruzer jacket is always one of my favorite pieces from Post and this spring the Sweetbar Cruzer is probably the best of the batch. The lightweight, fine cotton has a fine tattersal pattern with nice bar tac details and perfectly balanced white buttons. — Post Overalls Sweetbear Cruzer Jacket2

Post Overalls Waistcoats

Post Overalls Waistcoats The waist coat is undoubtedly a key layering piece within the world of work wear. Brands have delivered many versions in the last few seasons and some of my favorites have come from Engineered Garments, Filson and National Anthem - however the king might be Post Overalls in my book. After getting to try on a couple different versions and feel the weight and touch the lining, I feel that Post Overalls' vests have the perfect feel and weight to them, plus they come in ideal colors and material options. From heavier twill cottons, to soft wools, to the diagonal quilted version - the differences aren't in your face, but they're there. I feel like we can get past the non-sense chatter about how most of us don't currently work the labor jobs that these vests were once built for. These are made for 'fashion' minded people and hence they are made to be worn in fairly friendly conditions. That's fine with us, because that's what we're looking for and that's what Post Overalls is making best.

Post Overalls EZ Cruiser

Post Ez Cruiser 01 The fall's cool weather brings every opportunity to layer up, as does Post Overall's winter collection. With a great selection of chambray's, denim, twill and flannel, the EZ Cruiser is one of the more diverse and fall friendly items available. Coming in a simple navy flannel, the shirt features two button chest pockets, runaway chain-stitching and multi colour thread. Made in New York and available in the UK. Post Ez Cruiser 02

LOOK | Post Overalls Fall

Look | Post Overalls Fall The Post Overalls collection has been leaking into shops until recently. It hit quick and hard in the USA, Japan and Europe. Most notably Superdenim's recently delivery is full of beautiful pieces, in fact too many to choose from so I decided to put a look together. It's definitely not an attention grabbing ensemble as the pieces are all quite muted and I like it that way. Khaki, navy and grey all go very well together so there is no real need to fight it. The cinch back chinos, C-post chambray and twill vest are my favorites and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with one or two of them by the end of the season. They are perfectly balanced items and Takeshi Ohfuchi has put forth one of my favorite collections yet. I decided to add a bit of color by way of the Inverallan for Inventory Items cap, J. Press socks and the Alden for Context Roy boot.

Want | Post Overalls Cruzer Vest

cruzer-vest I'm loving getting dressed these days thanks to the weather. Throwing on the layers is always fun and when you do it right you feel great thanks to the peace of mind that comes with everything considered even if it's quickly. I've been on the hunt for another good sleeveless middle layer because while I've getting a ton of mileage out of my one vest lately, I could use some variety. The Cruzer Vest by Post Overalls is the waist coat of my affection right now. Specifically this striped light blue version. It's a perfect secondary (or tertiary) colour from afar and the pinstripes offer a great bit of textured detailing up close. All the little things are right about it too: white stitching, pockets, cinch waist, bar-tacking. I also actually prefer the lighter spring versions year round as they're a bit more comfortable but I never really have the foresight to get them then. The detriments of which mean that now that I really want it, my size is nowhere to be found. If I was a bit smaller I'd benefit from my procrastination though as it's now only two thirds of its normal price. Available at Superdenim

Want: Post Overalls Work Shirt

Believe it or not, I don't have one of these work shirts. There have been great versions by Engineered Garments, Woolrich Woolen Mills, RRL and even J. Crew. However none of these brands are available in Vancouver, or at least this shirt didn't show up in the order. I thought for sure my trip to New York would produce the chambray work shirt without a problem. Three days in, one to go and I've had no luck. I'm not thinking about taking advantage of the sales on the Eggplant website as they have some great EG and Post Overalls pieces marked down for once. Although I need to save some capital to take h(y)r to a new level, I was full planing on buying at least one good item in New York and it hasn't happened. To my disappointment, even with the insane sales, there just hasn't been anything in my size that has lasted this long.
